Unbelievable.  Twins lead the league in timeliness for errors, mistakes, injuries, weather conditions or brain farts.

Isn't this where the doctor closes his medicine bag and says, "Take 2 aspirin and call me in the morning"?

Damn, Jeffers  reminds me of Jake Taylor or Dotty Henson.

Lol, he’s not showing enough skin

It’s more like, “Make that a double and don’t call me, I’ll call you”

Kaat says that Jax hasn’t had it all inning and feels bad that he’s been left in. And our manager didn’t see it or he would have had someone warming

Royals and Twins have basically the same record.  Yet the difference when watching these two teams play each other isn't even close.

If other teams were still trying to steal bases like KC does, they could run all day on us.

like KC does

Thus, we need to start a grassroots movement in baseball.

Out of curiosity, a grassroots movement to do what, put the toothpaste back into the tube?

Other than rule changes, I don't see how baseball improves. The knowledge front offices have learned about baseball and its mechanics cannot be unlearned.

Maybe what people used to do versus what they do now, isn't necessarily progress.

You’re absolutely right about the toothpaste analogy, and the rules changes will come in droves, but I really don’t believe they make the game better, just different.

Jax could have very well given up no runs in the 4th, IF we had someone on third that makes a decent throw, and IF we have a center fielder that doesn't miss his jump on the ball..... but versatility doesn't necessarily mean decent defense, and in Jax's surrounding defense now, it certainly doesn't.

And now Celestino gets in the action....

Sano should have made a better attempt to catch that ball, if he makes contact with the base runner he could be called out for interference as he was inside the base line

A broken arm is never worth the risk of reaching into the runner, regardless. One out is not worth a broken arm in my book. But blame Sano. May as well. Not really the point of the post, but sure, our first baseman could have perhaps saved the play. Wherever the defense failed, it failed Jax.

Going through the motions with the pitching staff. Filling innings and giving up as soon as the lead is gone.

If I'm chicago, cleveland, or whoever, I would be upset at the caliber of baseball the Twins are playing.  They have watered down the competition.

I like watching KC play. Soler scores from first on a double, and yesterday, was it, Arraez made it from second to third on Donaldson's double, Our forte is certainly not on the base paths. KC is fun to watch on the bases. They run.

Well, you’re right, the defense is especially bad today

The Twins get hurt when they run

“Pitching is not a science, it’s an art.” - Jim Kaat. Ain’t that the truth… We’re way too focused on max effort velocity instead of hitting spots in the strike zone.
