Yikes. That was a very poor game at the plate, but you have to give credit to Bieber. Things aren't going to get any easier tomorrow.

Until then,

Good pitching beats good hitting.  Nearly impossible to beat a good pitcher when they're locked in. That's what we got tonight, not much you can do about it.

Well, that was a discouraging display of offensive ineptitude.

Not sure I’ve even seen a major league team swing at more pitches that bounced before getting to home plate. Missed a lot of center cut fastballs also.

Bieber was good. We made him look great.

Man, having a true ace pitching lights out is a scary thing to go up against. The Twins' pitching staff had a good outing, but it just didn't matter.

And good pitching > good hitting.

I remember thinking that everytime you were out on the mound.

Looks like it was a good evening to take the dog for an extra long walk.

Eh... Bieber was *great*.

Give credit where it is due. The guy absolutely spotted pitches in places no one could hit.

Normally something you can allow guys to play through (and I think it still is the case right now), but we are 10% done with the season tonight.

So you bench him and play an inferior player in a season where literally any team that plays competently makes the postseason?

That's a... really bad strategy.

Said it earlier but that’s what’s scary for our team. We don’t seem to have a starter like Bieber. Or clevinger for that matter. Postseason baseball always seems to slant towards pitching. See last year against the Yankees, for example

Bieber had one of the best pitching performances I have ever seen. I am not sure that any lineup could have hit him with his command, pitch mix, & the the way he tunnels his pitches as on as it was last night.

I think Bieber slightly exposed the fact that this lineup is actually struggling to start the season (weird to say because of all of the runs), but Donaldson, Sano, Kepler, Garver, Buxton (too small to actually say anything) have all been really bad to start the season. Polanco & Rosario have been okay, but below what their capable of. Cruz & Arraez are the only consistent contributors right now.

Hopefully they will get on track soon. It's kind of scary to think that this offense can produce at this level without really anywhere near the contribution it could be at.
