Saw in this morning's Strib that Soularie signed for $900,000, or $285,500 UNDER slot. Raya signed for a bit over $30k UNDER slot.  So they should have all the cash they need to get Sabato and Rosario signed in the next few days.

Bloody shame this draft didn't go at least 12 rounds as they would have the cash to make a couple sweet moves later on.

Heard a Doogie rumor that Sabato is in town and as long as physical goes well he is expected to sign above slot value.

Not going to pretend I know enough to offer any real insight here, but thought I'd toss out some opinions nonetheless:

Stankiewicz has ideal size and solid numbers. The ERA and SO/BB look especially nice. No clue where he might have been drafted in a normal year, but it would appear production vs velocity kept him undrafted. Wish we knew more about his secondary stuff. Can the Twins bump his MPH up a couple notches? Seems the control is there.

Sweany is a tall LHP. Period. Guessing there is some velocity projection there. Why not for $20K?

Hall, the catcher, is interesting to me in a unique way. His numbers, at a pair of smaller schools, is nothing to get excited about even a little bit. Seth states he's a good athlete. But what I find interesting is be was recruited to Arkansas by Dave VanHorn, one of the best college baseball programs in the country and one of the best and most respected head coaches in the sport. No clue why he didn't end up at Arkansas, but I find it interesting he was recruited and originally committed to such a powerhouse school.

Sharpe is another LHP, which I have a fixation for, lol. Very little offered here in regard to, well, anything, except career ERA and SO/BB numbers. Think I may be too busy and/or lazy to look up more information, lol. But obviously Twins scouts are familiar with him from their initial scouting of Jeffers, if nothing else. Looks like he was off to a good start before the season was cancelled.

Without more information on each of these guys, or some context where they might have been drafted/ranked, all just "meh" on the surface. But it sure seems like the current scouting department is pretty thorough these days. Maybe there's a surprise in there somewhere?

I heard right after he was drafted that Raya had agreed for underslot. I didn't believe it, with his profile. But, I suppose teams offer numbers and guys know that if they don't take it, they won't get more. Not sure why Sabato would go for overslot. My assumption is that they would have to go well overslot for Rosario.

My personal rankings of the undrafted guys the Twins signed, though subject to change:

Sharpe

Sweany

Stankiewicz

Hall

Very interesting, Seth. Looking at nothing more than numbers, I was assuming Stankiewicz was the guy to get most excited about. Too many similarities to Dougie M. to not like this kid.

Expect that Sharpe and Sweany faced more difficult competition than Stankiewicz at Fordham?

So I'm trying to dig in to Zarion Sharpe a little more. I'm seeing 6' 5" and 205 lbs, up an inch and 30lbs since HS. Drafted by the Cardinals in the 19th round last year. From a couple pictures I've seen he appears lanky with a build to add more weight/strength. Low 90's velocity with 2 additional offerings, slider and change.

That and the numbers listed above are all I could come up with. Solid numbers and a great start to last season. Sounds projectible.

probably? But scouts aren't looking at stats too much either. I did pass my above rankings by a Twins scout and that one person flip-flopped Sweany and Stankiewicz.

The three pitchers are all 6-5. Twins got a couple of lefties...

I know there were two other guys that they wanted. One went back to school and one signed elsewhere.

So, do we expect other signings to trickle in over the summer or is this it?

There may be one or two to trickle in, but I would suspect they are done.

Just no sense in grabbing more guys at this point.

available for Rosario?

Sound right?

Think it will be enough to make it happen?

And my impression is the $20k signings don't count towards the total...

Is there a database of all signings and their rankings by BA or such?  It would be nice to know how all teams are doing.

I haven't looked much.  This https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/2020-mlb-undrafted-free-agent-tracker-agreements-for-all-30-teams/ is free and still being updated.  They indicate if someone was on one of their lists (top 500 going into draft, top unsigned seniors, etc.).  Makes it look like KC is killing it in this phase.

You are talking about

"Willy Diaz Vasquez, SS, Prairie Baseball Academy HS, Lethbridge, Alberta"

and if i am patient enough, he will be added to the above article.

5' 10" and around 170lbs. Athletic and supposedly fast. Plays SS and CF. Positive numbers in some tournaments, but such a SSS that they mean little. Found an opinion article a year old or so that spoke of his athleticism and that college recruiters might take notice.

And that is pretty much all I could find on him.

Not saying he couldn't turn out, but appears to be a young athlete with limited exposure who is an inexpensive flier. Unfortunately, also appears to be a year away from any sort of Rookie ball to look at.

If my math is correct, that means that the Twins have a little more than $200k in bonus pool allotment that they could have spent, but didn't.

Why not just spend all of it?

We must've had these dollar amounts in place when we drafted these guys. I figured Rosario was gonna get that remaining $200,000 of our bonus pool.
