As Expected, Astros DH Yordan Alvarez was the unanimous choice for AL Rookie of the Year, ahead of O's LHP John Means and Rays second baseman Brandon Lowe. Luis Arraez received a 2nd place vote and two 3rd place votes and finished sixth. Eloy Jimenez finished fourth and Cavan Biggio finished 5th.

Mets 1B Pete Alonso was one vote shy of a unanimous win in the National League.

The only question I have is.....who didn't vote for Alonso? The AL looks about right, overall.

Andrew Baggerly. I believe he's a Giants writer gave Mike Soroka a first-place vote.

Alonso was pretty good, but so was Soroka who got the other 1st place vote, and frankly so was Tatis Jr. who finished 3rd:

bWAR / fWAR

Alonso: 5.0 / 4.8

Soroka: 5.6 / 4.0

Tatis Jr.: 4.2 / 3.6 (in only 84 games)
