A couple of them may still have something prove if they are on the bubble of making the post-season roster ... although I'm not sure who ... Wade or Cave? Will Astudillo make it? Things like that ... I think there are still some decisions being made.

Well, much rather be in this spot rather than assignning a spot because the team needs to have a full roster.

Smalley is telling a story about the '87 Twins coming home from Detroit and detouring to the Dome.  They were told there were 5,000 people at the Dome hoping to welcome them.  Then they saw every overpass jammed with people waving at the buses.  Then they got to the Dome.  They walked from the darkness into the Dome and heard 60,000 people roaring.  Roy's choking up telling the story.

 

 

That particular evening remains among my very fondest memories of Twins baseball since 1961.

I think that's probably the best scenario. 

 

I don't expect miracles this late in the season.

 

Well, other than the Twins going into NY and putting the hurt on the Yankees.

Twins are gonna have, like, eight former starters that are now dominant relievers with two pitches.

Nice to see the guys all pitch in to win game 99. Astudillo with another good game in this series. His stock rises Miller with a couple of hits. Schoop with a HR. Cave with a 2 run triple. The back end bullpen guys weren't the greatest but they also kept Detroit off the scoreboard after Harper. We felt they should sweep Detroit and they did.

Tigers announcers were critical of many things about the team this year. Biggest one was their inability to take walks. Also didn't care much for their 'd'.

 

Definitely want 100 wins. I think they can get at least one of the final 3 games. The guys appear to be a very tight (in a good sense) group.

 

I think there are 4 teams that have broken the 2018 HR record from last year Hope Twins outlast the Yankees.

 

Enjoyable afternoon. The 'B; team showed me something. Maybe the only 'negative' would be Smeltzer was hit pretty hard. Don't know if that will affect his post season chances. By MLB definition, he gets credit for a 'quality start'.
