Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Lack of self-respect leads to bizarre behavior, like moderating web sites. Boston, Nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to be in an automobile.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 They found all five Twins fans at tonight’s gameThere actually was quite a contingent of them last night. Late in the game, when the crowd had thinned out due to the late hour, I swear about one third of the remaining fans were cheering Rosario's HR.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 I failed to notice until now, but it's Cave in CF, and Kepler in right. Mistake, or blunder?
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 You're keeping a dossier? Good thing I haven't mentioned my secret family in Billerica. Isn't that near Groton? I discovered a couple of years ago that my great-great-great-...-great grandfather founded Groton in the 1640s. There's a plaque dedicated to him in the middle of town.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 You mentioned it once, I may be old but my memory is still working... short term memory suffers a bit, always around 4:20

ashbury Verified Member Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Boston, Nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to be in an automobile. Took the train to and from, last night. Beautiful experience. 30 minutes station to station. Was in bed an hour after last pitch.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 But, realistically, you have approximately 4096 grandparents that go back to the 1640s! One of them was bound to found Groton! True enough. Only reason it seems particularly special is that it was the pure patri-lineal grandfather so we still have the same last name.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 True enough. Only reason it seems particularly special is that it was the pure patri-lineal grandfather so we still have the same last name.I think my patri-linear great great great ... - was killed by a flying rock to the side of the head in The Thirty Years War which just so happened to be taking place around the time Groton was founded.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Isn't that near Groton? Not if you ask a native Massachusettsan. Nearly twenty miles apart, or two days by car. My daughter's boyfriend attended there, for those keeping the dossier.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 You mentioned it onceOh, well then, alrighty. For a moment there I was afraid you were being obsessive.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Welp, there's your pitch to contact.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 I don't care which team hit that ball, it is another example of why Fenway Park is a travesty of a baseball stadium.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 I think my patri-linear great great great ... - was killed by a flying rock to the side of the head in The Thirty Years War which just so happened to be taking place around the time Groton was founded. One of these years I'm going to dig through archives and see if I can figure out on which side of the Revolutionary War my ancestors fought. Based on the essential conservatism of my father and me, I'd guess the British.

ashbury Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 according to Bremer Cave and Kepler started last night in the wrong positionNah, it was just an extreme shift.
FLTwinsGuy Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 321 ft homer....i HATE Fenway
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Unlike last night, I’m assuming that was a home run in precisely 1 park(s)
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 4 innings in less than an hour
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 I hope that the next time the Twins play the Red Sox, all Betts are off!
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 according to Bremer Cave and Kepler started last night in the wrong positionfielding out of order?
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 With the start Perez had last time around, this is going really well comparatively. Could the bats wake up, please?
wabene Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Took the train to and from, last night. Beautiful experience. 30 minutes station to station. Was in bed an hour after last pitch.Boston has great public transportation, the beach, North end, ballpark name it you can get there
jz7233 Provisional Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Why is Schoop in the lineup today? I would rather see Polanco or Adrianza.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Eovaldi was supposed to be on a low pitch count. We haven't done a good job of making him throw pitches or we could have probably had him out after 3 or 4.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 321 ft homer....i HATE FenwayIsn't against the ground rules for us to get one of our own.
