Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 We rip on hawk, but I find Dick to be just as obnoxious and as big of a homer. Not even close. Hawk would disparage the other team constantly and only say positive things about the home team. Can you honestly say the same about Dick? And I'm not some big Bremer fan, but he's just kind of an old-school announcer who is neither great nor terrible.

After all, it's not a national broadcasting team. It's the Twins team. But to this day, I miss Herb on the radio. Tip of the cap, moment of silence, may he rest in peace but be calling the Twins games in Heaven.

And he was totally serious. He said that a player should risk being tossed just to get to him and break his stride. I mean, that's just childish and worse than homerism. That's when I said, uh ... no ... that's beyond the degrees.

And honestly, Bremer is in the same vein, just not as good. Hawk was something else entirely.

He was an absolutely awful announcer, one of the worst I've ever heard (in competition with Rex Hudler).

Anything was better than that. And the last couple of years when they brought on Stone ... you could tell how uncomfortable he was working with Hawk. A lot of silence between the two.

Hawk is done and gone to never return to the booth.
