The Twins are not going to go to a 2 man bench

I guess my spidy sense is better than yours, unfortunately. :(

We know who to blame, now don't we?

Yeah, these damn psychic powers are horrible to live with. I’m always a step ahead of everyone else.

No updates in the last 24 hours on Bux - latest news posted yesterday is that he's "close to returning". Whatever that means.

Twins depth will again be tested. Luckily we've got some resources and good backups. But now even the backups have been getting hurt!

Honestly I think the Twins are being super conservative with so many of these guys. Management's looking at that big lead in the central and getting guys extra rest. Let's hope this strategy works and lots of these guys look fresh in September.

Maybe fresh isn’t the best way to put it ... less worn out than the other teams works for me.

There was a report that Buxton might need a "short minor league rehab" a couple of days ago. However, since both Rosario and Kepler were nicked (and now Rosario on the Injured List), I wonder if the Twins will go through with sending Byron to the minors for a few days.

Regardless, it is now about two weeks and I wonder if Buck will be rusty and need some time to get up to speed.

Congratulations to Thorpe. I wonder if he'll be the long man and if not used in that capacity, perhaps they will give him a start in the next several days.

Do not mess with wrist injuries.  I would so much rather Buxton (or any other player, for that matter) sit out an extra couple of weeks and get to 100%, than try to play through discomfort.  With a deep roster and a large lead, allow your guys to be healthy.

They probably would have if Gardy were still the skipper.

I feel they don't want to IL him with the All Star game so close. And unless they are hit with a roster crunch

there's no reason to put him on.

Another reason found, I guess?

Thorpe has been banged up at AAA, but his strikeout numbers are surprisingly high. He could get placed in a Poppen-like scenario where he just eats some innings.

Littell will be back soon enough, they just needed to send someone down who still had options. That's the downside to having guys like Magill and Morin who have already run out of options.

That was a few days ago - we haven't heard anything since on Buxton's progress and how the days of hitting went. Definitely worrisome, tbh. Have to imagine that Rosario is out until the AS break.

What about Marwin? Haven't heard a word on him either.

Both are on my fantasy team (IL). That last report had Marwin as feeling good and running at 70% with minor pain.

I think they laid off drills for both of them with the wet field this week.

Marney Gelner reported during tonights game that Buxton and Marwin both took swings and practiced on the field tonight (Friday).

Especially when neither Magill or Morin are particularly good.

Thorpe replaced Littell, the Twins didn't go to a 2 man bench like I said

simple solution to that downside...don't have Magill's on the 25-man

(apologies as I'll now mellow my harsh)

Does Thorpe get a start on Sunday if he's not used today? I kind of hope so. He's been used as a starter and has been going much better lately. If Pineda can give the Twins six innings today, Thorpe should be starting tomorrow.

I thought he looked good today and he is only 23 which seems weird. I think he might be a solution. Like him a lot more than Gonsalves
