I'll admit I was thinking it was more likely Gonzo would get a hit than Sano, who has been looking lethargic at the plate.

Why would Dick want Cruz pinch run for with two outs when he’ll be running anyway, but not one?

Keep Cruz in the lineup, at this point odds are there’ll be extra innings.

Now you can substitute for Cruz on defense since we have the lead.

....

that's the joke...

Honestly, is Adrianza even that much faster than Cruz? He's no slouch on the basepaths.

Nice hit, Marwin!

Adrianza seems to get out on the basepaths way more than anyone else I've seen.

Wasn't there an article last year (probably on this site) that ranked runners by speed and Adrianza was barely faster than Mauer?

Adrianza is the best shortstop on the team and Cruz can't even play a position.

I'm pretty sure that answers your question.

But also, Adrianza is not very fast.

Has anyone read the article recently posted here, "Why Miguel Sano's Strikeouts are Not a Problem."

Save for a wild pitch, our author might have had some 'splainin' to do...

They’re not a problem. One AB doesn’t make a problem. Reference his career line compared to Adam Dunns at similar point. And Sano plays much better D. What will be a prob is if he can’t hit pitching in close and late and high leverage situations. I’d like to see some numbers on that. He’s definitely not Big Papi but I wonder if he’s at least ok. He’s also 26 years old.

Is this what it feels like to root for the Astros or Yankees?

Let me check. I still have a soul, so no.

(I apologize to any Astros fans, that clearly wasn't meant for you.)

The best baseball teams lose 40% of their games and the worst win 40% of their games.

It's just baseball.

I think perhaps you missed the sarcasm.
