Don Walcott Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Why is this guy wearing eye glare black at a night game?
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 I wish we'd have pitched him scared a couple innings ago. Well that just wasn't smart pitching to him that at bat. Can't hang offspeed stuff like that to a slugger.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 I hate that we're pitching scared to Encarnacion. Seems pretty soft. If I were Perez I'd p itch scared to everyone.
FLTwinsGuy Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 And of course the leadoff walk hurt the twins..did i mention mallex smith is garbage?
BattleYourTailOff Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Yeah Perez is regressing a bit it seems. Actually since he’s been back from paternity leave it’s been stinkorama
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Definitely over Martin Perez. Dude has been awful the past month.
BattleYourTailOff Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Make your babies in March or April ppl!
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Perez still has really good stuff. It's command, and some poor choices, that are hurting him.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Perez still has really good stuff. It's command, and some poor choices, that are hurting him. Disagree he has good stuff. He throws hard sure, but lacks a solid breaking pitch and hitters have learned to lay off the cutter. There's a reason he has a 4.5+ career ERA and had a 6+ ERA last year.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Back from dinner. Nice little NY strip off the grill, medium rare, baked kabucha squash with butter 'n brown sugar, salad from the garden. A glass of a delightful little Portugese red blend. Satiated.Which wine?
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Can't afford stupid baserunning down by a run. Cmon Polanco.
BattleYourTailOff Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 As of this point I trust Odorizzi & Berrios in October, but not Kyle “Braniac” Gibson, Perez, or anyone else. We got plenty of prospects let’s get an ace.
70charger Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 I think Polanco moves really well at short, but yeah, his arm is lacking.
MNT1996 Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 I think Polanco moves really well at short, but yeah, his arm is lacking. He's been doing just fine there this year.
70charger Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Which wine? Also curious. In my experience almost all Portuguese reds are blends, and the region often matters more.
Don't Feed the Greed Guy Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Okay, time for that error.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Agreed. Is it my imagination or does Perez actually kind of stink? I don’t think we need to worry about overcrowding of the rotation if we can pick up a starter in a trade. They can replace either Perez or Pineda. Frankly, I would be tempted to replace one of them with Smeltzer now so at least we can get more innings. Seems like this is the next test for Wes Johnson Can he help the pitcher adjust to the league's adjustment to him?
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 At least the numbers for the Mariners' BP look pretty unimpressive.
70charger Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Not a good night for Gonzalez. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that Cron only would have hit two homers.
BattleYourTailOff Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 This game won’t end 4-3 hopefully we can hold them to 4.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Hiya gang. Did I make it in time for the comeback?
BattleYourTailOff Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Not a good night for Gonzalez. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that Cron only would have hit two homers.Tbf he did get screwed on the strikeout in his 2nd AB and it should be a 4-4 game right now
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Which wine?"Red Blend Portugal" by Casa Santos Lima. And I lied. re: "a" glass.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 I was hoping Roco would give Duffey another inning.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 I was hoping Roco would give Duffey another inning.I’m not sure why you run out the two curve-ballers back to back.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Fun with numbers: Garver/Castro: 12 Dbls/ 18 HR/ 43 RBI/ .295 Avg/ .389 OB/ .629 SLG/ 1.018 OPS Those would be cleanup numbers for a lot of past Twins teams, and wouldn't look bad for any team at this point in the season.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 I’m not sure why you run out the two curve-ballers back to back.Well they won't be seeing the same hitters.
BattleYourTailOff Verified Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Encarnación is a monster.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 I’m not sure why you run out the two curve-ballers back to back.Agreed. Duffey does have the better FB. Only reason I can think of.
