I've put together another google doc for July game thread intros. Feel free to check the signup document and choose a date or dates when you would like to do the "opener".

When you have chosen a date or dates, either post on this thread or send me a message. This is going very well so far, but variety is the spice of life, so I would like to see even more people sign up. Thanks in advance!

Have you started on July yet? I'm off of work from July 1 through July 10 and could be persuaded to start a game thread or two. Whatever is needed.

You can do it!

(Recently heard about the sequel to Waterboy, but still haven't seen it...)

I've completed a google doc for signups for August. Several dates have already been spoken for, but several remain. Check the document and sign up for an available date. If you do want to take a game intro either post that information in this thread or message me.

It is August and as per usual, I will bump this already pinned thread to solicit volunteers to open game threads. Several game dates in the month are unfilled, so if anyone new would like to try their hand at introducing a game thread, here's your chance.

You can either respond in this thread or message me if you are interested. It should be an exciting month!

We have some opportunities for game thread introductions this weekend. All three remaining games against Texas are available.

In addition, intros for the 24th, 25th and 29th are open.

Probably after the Texas series, I will set up a google doc for September. It should be fun!

And for a brief moment, all posters on this page of this thread had a number of posts represented by 2 8s and 2 1s (in decimal)

It's this Attention To Detail that separates Twins Daily from all other sites on teh intarwebs. Quality processes lead to a quality experience!

Detailed... the result of battling our tails off, eh?

(Wonder if that will make it to the Oxford English Dictionary?)

So, how does one go about finding the document to sign up for a thread?

I'd like to volunteer for one of the Red Sox games in Sept.

There have been enough intervening posts that it's back on the previous page. Here it is again, for August:

I believe the September document isn't up at the moment, but will be, Real Soon Now.

Less than 40 regular season games to go! There still are opportunities to show your writing skills and do an introduction to a game thread. I'll provide a link to the September Game Thread Introductions google doc at the end of this post.

You don't have to be someone that has introduced the game thread before. We accept rookies. Here are the upthread guidelines for doing an intro:

'So let's get down to the fun part--rules! Well, maybe just firm guidelines. The game thread should be posted at least an hour before first pitch. The game thread title should include that it is the game thread, the date and time and also the Twins opponent (Twins vs. ????). It is also recommended that the lineups be put in the introduction. As far as content in the introduction, let's just say it can be pretty free form. If you want to discuss Baldelli's lineup or the quality of the opponent, tell a story about how Twins baseball affected your life or praise the abilities of someone, go for it! If you just want to write a couple of sentences about the game, that is fine as well. It isn't necessary to craft a short story or three page essay, in fact a brief intro might be preferred.

We do the game threads as if the assembled game threaders were sitting together at the game. We expect that anyone making comments follow the posting rules for this site. We expect that there is respect for each other, but that doesn't mean that we can't have fun. The introduction just sets the tone and we go from there.''

Here is the link to the google doc:

One additional note, two game dates are available this weekend. They are 8/24 and 8/25. Please message me or post on this thread if you can help out. Thanks!

According to your guidelines, I've been doing it wrong. :)

Hence they are just 'guidelines' and not absolutes. :)
