Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Joe going out with a bang
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 As many walks in 24 innings in August as he had in 68 April and May innings combined. So... there's that. Originally typed '24 August innings', but had to change it, because... they weren't.Similar to the discourse at Twins daily...it isn't.

VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Here's something totally off topic, but do you old timers remember Eddie Feigner and his softball team, AKA The King and His Court? Something told me to look him up. Get a load of this (from Wikipedia): On February 18, 1967, Feigner appeared in a celebrity charity softball game against many Major League players. In the game Feigner struck out Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Brooks Robinson, Roberto Clemente, Maury Wills, and Harmon Killebrew all in a row.[1]

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Tyler Austin is reminding me of Joey Gallo... which is both a good and bad thing. All HRs or nothing (Ks).

(i also remember that eddie struck a guy out. from second base. wearing a blindfold.)

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 I don't buy the argument that 10 extra minutes of commercials before the game are a big revenue generator. The broadcasters can just charge 2% more for the commercials between innings to make up for it. The advertisers will not pause for a moment before agreeing to that.I’m not an ad exec, but I would be willing to bet that maximum audience is at the beginning of the broadcast, eg 7 pm for a 7:10 start time.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Mrs Chief, while I wasn't paying attention: "Honey, what should I do with these week-old buns?" Chief: "Try some deep knee bends."
