tvagle Verified Member Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 What seems like two season's ago the good readers of Twins Daily were asked to make the following predictions going into this fine season: Twin's RecordPlayoff Position/ResultsOffensive POYMost HRSP of the YearReliever of the YearRookie of the Year Seems like a good time to revisit how we all did...and who we have to root for to do better in hopes of confirming what we all know already...that we are fantastic prognosticators when it comes to the great game of baseball and our local nine Pessimism? Not at the start of the year Who ever said TD readers and writers are pessimistic must not have been around at the start of the year as pollsters predicted a banner year: Twin's Record: 91-71 Playoff Chances: 27 of 30 had the Twins in the playoffs (Parker & Jeremy had them missing the playoffs, Dante just didn't answer that part so take that how you will Offensive Player of the Year: Dozier, Sano, Buxton top three vote getters, I'd say we got that one rightMost HR: Sano...thank goodness there's still timeSP of the Year: BerriosReliever of the Year: Reed...at least he didn't get traded...yetRookie of the Year: Garver...if only he got to play more Here's a Summary of the predictions: Check out who actually predicted Nick Gordon as ROY and all the other results here
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 This is why I try not to make predictions anymore. We can all make educated guesses, but guessing what's going to happen in the future is a total crapshoot, even based off past data.
Twins33 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Every time I predict they'll be good, they end up being bad and vice versa. Whoops.
tvagle Verified Member Posted August 18, 2018 Author Posted August 18, 2018 Every time I predict they'll be good, they end up being bad and vice versa. Whoops.I must have really been drinking from my Twins Souvenir Mug as only Dante and me had the Twins at 100-62 Which cleans up the only peeps to predict no playoffs for the Twins...Parker and Jeremy
goulik Verified Member Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 I guess one out of seven ain't bad...
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 Every time I predict they'll be good, they end up being bad and vice versa. Whoops.so for future reference... just predict 50 wins every year...
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Only 35-4 the rest of the way to reach my prediction. Who's with me?
tvagle Verified Member Posted August 20, 2018 Author Posted August 20, 2018 Only 35-4 the rest of the way to reach my prediction. Who's with me?I was equally optimistic until loss number 63 occurred and my dream prediction died
