The most disheartening thing about that ugly inning of work from Reed is that we have a few guys in the minors putting up wonderful numbers in relief. Sure they haven't done the greatest in EXTREMELY SMALL sample sizes in the majors but give them consistent innings and I'd be willing to bet you'd find at least one long term solution in the pen. Please don't let there be a repeat of total FO stupidity again this year/September/offseason.

Edit: Not saying that I don't like the aggressive signings of Reed, Duke, Rodney and company in the offseason. Unfortunately, they haven't worked and some very nice internal pieces are now no longer with us and thriving elsewhere. Let's see what we have in our own system this year and get some fresh young arms in there for the long haul.

This is what it feels like to be a capital L loser, beaten up and mocked by the cool kids.

Which reminds me of a Jack Handey quote:  "I hope if any new insects get created or evolve, its something that bites you or stings you, and then laughs at you."

Also:  "Although he was an enemy of mine, I had to admire his brilliant strategy:  first he hit me, then he kicked me, then, he hit me again."

Among the many things the Twins need to improve upon next year, they need to vastly improve their control of opposing baserunners.

Particularly the relievers. The starters, other than Odirizzi, have done okay. But teams are running at will against most of the guys in the Twins pen. Magill and Rogers are notable exceptions.

So over 10 days the Twins went 2-5 against Cleveland.

Not to worry, one day it will be the other way around.

Hopefully sooner rather than later.

We played that lineup...Berrios was bad...they started Kluber. And it took 9 innings to put us out of our misery!? So next year with the gaps filled in, and even an average start, we beat that team by what?...a dozen?

greg allen vs twins: 9-25 .360 BA...vs everyone else: 24-122 .196 BA

There are other examples on other teams, sadly.

Make this guy look better than he is.

Seriously, how do you not walk those guys?

You going to walk Bradley and Ramirez to get to Encarnacion?  Or not pitch to Lindor either?  You gotta pitch to someone.  Key to that inning was getting Allen out 1st.

Clearly. But once there is a runner on third with one out, you go to the point of least resistence. By the numbers, that’s Encarnacion.
