Ryan Atkins Verified Member Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 1. Everything goes right for Kyle Gibson this year and he has a career year going 17-7.2. Twins go 5-11 against Gardenhire-led Detroit, but have winning records against all other AL-Central foes.

diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 nothing against joe mauer (or respy), but worth mentioning in a similar vein: two more number-one songs would arguably make mariah carey the greatest recording artist of all time. That sadly says way more about mankind than it does Mariah.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Sano gets suspended for 30 games, and goes 26/76/.245.Buxton starts All-Star game and makes a Huntersque catch 16/73/.298 with 40 steals.Kepler figures out how to hit lefties reasonably well 18/78/.279.Morrison doesn't quite match the hype but fills the DH spot capably 28/83/.255.Odorizzi, Berrios, and Lynn combine for 45 wins, 500+ innings and sub 4.25 ERA.Santana is almost an afterthought after Romero comes up just before or after the All Start game and has a 1970 Blylevenish debut.Rodney saves 35+ games but makes Twins fans wish Guardado was still the closer.Dozier looks for the big contract and hits 40+ HRs and gets his 100 RBI year.Mauer hits .310 and wins Gold Glove at 1B.Moya plays a much bigger role in the bullpen than anyone expects. It all adds up to 92 wins and missing the division title by 2 games, but they still get a Wild Card spot.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 It's also worth mentioning that Mauer needs 8.9 more WAR to be the all-time Twins WAR leader, which one could argue would make Mauer the greatest Twins player of all time. It's a difficult, but not impossible, achievement to obtain for the almost-35-year-old.That really shouldn’t be a surprise given the cumulative nature of WAR. To get almost 9 more points, he’ll need a minimum of two seasons. Should he do that, he would also hold the Twins record for games played. Harmon played about 400 games for the Senators, so he only played about 1900 as a Twin. Mauer is already at 1730. He’ll pass Hrbek and Puckett before Father’s Day I imagine.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 I predict that the Twins will play good team baseball. And while i'm at it, i also predict i'll post a comment or two on twinsdaily. I know i'm going out on a limb here. 2 of them in fact. And i'm more likely to get to places on my own 2 legs. As they say, 4 legs good, 2 legs... er... subject to debate.
lecroy24fan Verified Member Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 (edited) Logan Morrison will be a huge bargain, in contention for AL MVP. Twins will run away with the division, 12+ games ahead of the Indians. 3 players hit 30+ HR's, Sano, Morrison, Dozier. Buxton leads the league in SB. Joe Mauer hits .350 and wins the AL batting title. Addison Reed ends the season as closer, including World Series Game 7. Edited March 22, 2018 by lecroy24fan diehardtwinsfan 1
birddog Verified Member Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 And I thought I was excited for the season to begin. I predict a 92-win season, but not sure we can overtake the Indians or Astros yet with their pitching staffs. I do think Gibson will be throwing enough strikes to win 15 games, and Romero called up for an injury replacement in May and winning 12 games.
