Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 If they are only going to throw 60 pitches why not?I'd prefer our relievers throw as few innings as possible, for obvious reasons
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Great at-bat, Robbie...
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Francona should be fired. Come on. This is just ridiculous.Listening to their broadcast, this was planned to get clevinger experience coming into an inning. Salazar had been moved to the pen after injuries

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Let him go 7.1 innings then.He hasn't throw more than 5 innings in a game since August 10...he's trying to earn a spot on the playoff roster, not as a starter. Doesn't make much sense to stretch him out
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Pressly not the best fielding pitcher on the staff
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Mauer has now failed to scoop three throws and catch a line drive in the last game and a half.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 That's not good. He probably didn't miss three scoops all season.
sftwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Speaking of Clevinger, doesn't he look just like a grown-up version of the Mitch Kramer character in Dazed and Confused? (kid that Ben Affleck was after with the paddle-also a pitcher)
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 That's not good. He probably didn't miss three scoops all season.Yep, and it was a stinky throw, like really bad.
sftwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 I noticed that too, he's been picking it all season and now he's suddenly missed 3, had that mental lapse last night as well where he tried a dangerous throw to 1st rather than take the easy out on the lead runner at 2nd.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Mauer has now failed to scoop three throws and catch a line drive in the last game and a half. That should have been a routine throw by Esco. Instead, he threw him a damn sinker. Mauer has saved plenty of bases with that scoop all year, it's really not hard to make a routine throw and hit a guy in the chest.

(kid that Ben Affleck was after with the paddle-also a pitcher) The kid was a pitcher. We'll soon now if he starts going to his face every other second.
jimmer Verified Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Yep, and it was a stinky throw, like really bad.it's a bit funny when we start dogging Mauer for not saving infielders from bad throws just because he has done it most of the season :-)
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Man, offense being worked tonight. Cmon white sox
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 The white sox bunt after a leadoff single....in the 3rd....and don't score *bangs head*
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 2 runs because of a walk/HBP and a throwing error. Both with 2 outs. We'd still be behind 1-0 6 innings batted with only 2 hits.

But good observations.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Gomes and the Tonkin incident.
BlackJackMorris Provisional Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Why are we throwing our terrible relievers? Horrible to watch.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Please don't be hurt joe. Sheesh
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Why are we throwing our terrible relievers? Horrible to watch. How can we NOT throw a terrible reliever? When we are behind by 3 and have 2 hits in mid to late innings....
BlackJackMorris Provisional Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 White Sox up leading 1-0 in the bottom of 4.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 This is the team that has only lost 3 of 32 or something like that, and needs to keep winning to stay ahead of Houston for home field. Highly motivated. Smart.

Highly motivated. Smart. Yep, and the twins were sloppy defensively and quiet with the bats. Not a recipe for success. Sox only in the 4th inning. Would like to stay up to see us possibly clinch live
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Why are we throwing our terrible relievers? Horrible to watch. My guess is because the Twins should (*should*) be clinching the second spot, and it will be more important to keep our best 2-3 guys on good pitching schedules (eg. every other day until the WC game). Should.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Sox score again, 2-0 still batting
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Wild pitch and it's 3-0!!!!!
