Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 simply can't struggle like this against the dregs of the leagues in a playoff race.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Berrios just can't keep the ball down.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 This team's in trouble if they drop this series.Angels and Yankees just keep winning, and we're giving games away to teams behind us (Royals and Rays). Not feeling real great about where we're headed (on terms of the playoffs this year).Yeah, you made that very clear yesterday. Hosken Bombo Disco 1
Darius Verified Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Dropping Santana and Berrios starts consecutively to fellow wildcard contenders....Better luck next year.

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 The Rays have good pitching. Better pitching than LA or Baltimore, in my opinion. Fortunately we miss the Ray's best pitcher this series.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Last I looked, the Rays are one sweep away from being right in the hunt. And so are the blue jays. A lot of teams are "in the hunt" this year, doesn't mean they are a good club.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Author Posted September 5, 2017 The wins are gonna feel good and the losses are gonna hurt. There is no getting around this. Its how September is supposed to feel. Hosken Bombo Disco, mickeymental and Danchat 3

And the Padres took 3 out of 4 from the Dodgers. It's baseball. The Margins are always thin. No shame losing to the Rays. It's just plain ole shame... losing to anyone right now. h2oface and mickeymental 2
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Ugh. Molly finally used the LOOGY right and Boshers failed.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Not sure how you let Berrios pitch to Dickerson, 2 on, none out, Berrios clearly struggling. Managerial malpractice. You didn't see TB let Cobb pitch to Rosario. h2oface 1
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 (edited) Serioulsy? Tampa still in the second Wild Card race! Hardly "dregs".The rays are 26-30 since July 1. The AL is a mess, 11 of 15 teams are "still alive". This is a series we need to win. maybe we will. And with our thin/shaky starting rotation, we need to do better than 0-2 in Santana/berrios starts, that's all Edited September 5, 2017 by Aggies7

All good points you make here. But the point I and a couple others are making to you, and disagreeing with, is Tampa is not the "dregs". A 10 game winning streak, and they are the second wild card.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Twins have 3 hits. Hard to win ballgames on three hits. Maybe if the bases were walked loaded 3 times and the hits were 3 grand slam home runs......
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 That's called parity. Or maybe mediocrity. Either way it's going to make for interesting times.Hey, all I'm saying is that a team with legitimate playoff aspirations needs to beat the less talented teams, especially with their best starters throwing. If we lose tonight, since august 21, the twins will have gone 8-7 against not one team above .500...it's crunch time now, have to be better!
Kwak Verified Member Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 I am curious to see how posters blame Molitor and Falvine for tonight--but I am confident they will do it.

Wow. I hadn't noticed that. I couple weeks ago it was a 22 game lead. Hey... I live in LA. I pay attention, too, but hadn't realized how many games they dropped. Edited September 5, 2017 by h2oface
