wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 According to the Star Tribune, the Twins are overhauling their ticket structure and prices for next season. Initially, I was a bit worried that they were going to gouge the season ticket holders some more, but after further research I found that my current seats would actually go down by $90/seat. http://www.startribune.com/twins-overhauling-ticket-options/441618433/
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2017 Author Posted August 24, 2017 The changes look logicalI thought so too. Generally speaking, having the seats closer to the field get more expensive within the section makes much more sense even from a ticket buyers standpoint.
amjgt Verified Member Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 It'll probably make the Stubhub/Seatgeek maps a pain in the butt, but other than that...
Doomtints Verified Member Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Twins ticket prices are very reasonable, if not underpriced. Still looks like a good deal for fans.

To be fair, they aren't exactly in a position to raise prices when they're already staring down such low attendance. Officially attendance is around 25,200/game but there were a lot of games the first few months that were drastically less than the reported numbers. They'll still finish solidy in the bottom 10 of the league even with a late-season bump from wildcard contention. Let's see how this shakes out for the following season if they make the playoffs and start next year strong.

And since I only make it back to the stadium now once or twice a year I have no reason not to hope that they put themselves in a much better situation to raise ticket prices - by winning.
kab21 Verified Member Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 It definitely makes sense but buying tickets has gotten really complicated. You can't just suggest 'get some tickets in LF' anymore. There are 3 different price ranges and 5 different categories of game price ranges. This is coming from someone that has been outside of the US for almost a decade and had it easy with a partial season ticket (Tigers) package. I am sure that all teams are doing this now.

It's getting better, but they're still below what is officially announced.
