For those watching: was that a legitimate hit or a play that likely would have been an error 20 years ago? Gameday says "singled to third baseman Sano".

Sano made a helleva bare handed scoop and Mauer had a great dig at 1st, but he just beat it out. Now that double..... It was well hit, but Kepler did not play it well at all.

I told myself I wouldn't stay up to watch entire game. Now with the no hitter gone and the DP, I should probably go to bed. Can't stomach watching a loss to the padres

I may have to post this under the official scoring thread.

Margot was awarded an RBI.

I thought the rule is no RBI on a double play.

Even on a non-force DP? I would think it's ruled a sacrifice fly with a trailing runner out trying to advance?

Granite playing over Rosario is questionable at best. You already have Castro, Buxton and Berrios hitting. You can't afford to bench one of your 3 best hitters.

The right side was so wide open and of course Granite puts it about the only place where he could get doubled up.

Perhaps if Eddie didn't make so many mental mistakes, he'd never be out of the lineup

It has to be a forced double play. The Runner on 2nd was not forced to advance to third.

I would like to see the difference in ball 2 and strike 3.... If anything ball 2 looked more like a strike.

Well at least Jose can pitch another inning

I'm not sure it's a given that he would be lifted. He will likely be around 80 pitches. Maybe less. Plus, he's a decent hitter.

Pitch count be damned, you can't have an automatic out lead off the 8th inning when you're down by a run (at least)

As I said, Berrios is far from an automatic out.

He's a career .500 hitter.

I really don't feel good about Granite. A contact hitter with no power and no arm. He is going to hit into a lot of DPs. Can he ever leg out one hit with his so called elite speed?

Reading the game thread drunk is a good thing. I'm going to bed now. Night.

If you can still type legibly, you aren't that drunk

Auto correct does the work I can't. And not falling down, no. More overly tipsy and now sleepy
