Speaking of chikkin dinnah, was talking to a chicken farmer the other day. About how old do you think the average chicken is when slaughtered?

a. 15 days

b. 30 days

c. 60 days

d. 120 days

e. 5 years

I'm going with B.

Please tell me someone on this board did not eat Big Bird.  That would never be acceptable (OK - maybe for game 7 of the World Series).

You're aware of the chicken sacrificed to Jobu in "Major League?"

Well.....

I love you Twins!

Hate to think how much worse off we would be without Buxtons defensive masterclass!

Winner winner Potato dinner!

You win - fed fattening stuff and hormones. 30 days later you get 1.5 lb. breasts.

How about free-range chicken dinner winner from now on?

Yikes!!! We might be playing in October.

Well, of course we're playing in October. Our last game of the season is in Oct. 1.

The last game of the regular season is on Oct. 1.

It's early, but the current standings in the second Wild Card races are amazing:

American League

Twins ---

Tampa Bay 0.5

Kansas City 1.5

Seattle 1.5

Angels 2.0

Texas 2.0

Baltimore 3.0

Toronto 4.0

In the NL, by contrast, Colorado has a 7.5 game lead for the second spot!

So, mostly sellers in the NL and mostly buyers in the AL at the deadline if things stay this way?

Sure is nice not to have the Twins on this list any more!  :jump:

Good call. Reardon and Gladden have always been the first names mentioned when analyzing the upgrades over the '86 squad, but Juany was a huge addition to a bullpen that had often struggled even when it wasn't Ron Davis making a ritual burnt offering of potential wins.

112 innings with an ERA+ of 117, with 6 spot starts, 4 saves and an 8-1 record tossed in for good measure. And all accomplished at the svelte weight of just 186 pounds on his lanky 5'-11" frame, according to BRef (Ok, so he broke into the majors at age 23 and if he weighed 186 or less after that season I'll eat an autographed Berenguer jersey, but still, the guy could pitch).

And a snappy dresser to boot.

I can't tell -- is that Cheech? Or Chong?
