Jack is saying just what I was thinking. Molitor should have every guy in the dugout go up to Mejia and say, "I want the ball, make 'em hit it at me." Let the kid know that he's not alone out there. Make 'em hit balls at his buddies. They'll get the outs.

BTW, when I was a kid, my brother was on a team that actually did the passed ball trick. Pitcher threw it purposely over the catcher's head. Runner on third would take off, but the backstop would return the ball just a few feet behind the catcher. I watched the trick work a couple times. Hilarious.

I'll give Grossman props - he does seem to be getting better as a hitter. Is he finally maturing as a ballplayer?
