Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 That was a beautiful slider for a big K
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Gimenez likes to go to the mound. Castro not so much.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Remember when Rickie Weeks was... talented. He had about 3 years of being one of the best... and then... he was not that anymore. Not sure what happened.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Now Mejia is showing the nerves. I really hope he gets over that crap. It's all in his head.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Gimenez likes to go to the mound. Castro not so much. I have the transcript Gimenez: Dude... Don't walk Weeks Mejia: I wish you would have told me that before I got behind him. Gimenez: That's OK... My Bad.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Ah, the old past-ball trick. Worked to perfection.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Ah, the old past-ball trick. Worked to perfection. The thing a struggling pitcher needs. A big fat ole' break.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Maybe this will be a breakthrough for Mejia. His teammates helped him get out of a jam. Trust your teammates, kid!
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 I've thought for a long while that Bourjas would be an ideal backup outfielder. Glad he didn't hurt the Twins there.
Blake Verified Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 That was a cool play, Jiminez to Mejia. I believe that's the first time I've seen a pitcher tag a runner out at the plate.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Vargas singles. Three more hits and we'll have a run!
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Vargas singles. Three more hits and we'll have a run!Make that two.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 I don't understand those who wanted Vargas to go. We need more hitters like him.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Not feeling confident about a big inning.
bighat Verified Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Oh man, bases loaded nobody out....I'm gonna turn the channel for a while because I have a bad feeling here.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Odorizi just got lucky. Dozier missed that one by a fraction of an inch. Or the length of Souza's dive... ;-)
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Let's see the confident dialed-in Meìja this inning.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Jack is saying just what I was thinking. Molitor should have every guy in the dugout go up to Mejia and say, "I want the ball, make 'em hit it at me." Let the kid know that he's not alone out there. Make 'em hit balls at his buddies. They'll get the outs.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 OMG, the plate ump looks like the nerdy brother from Two and a Half Men...
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Just noticed that they misspelled Meíja's name in the media guide.
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Just noticed that they misspelled Meíja's name in the media guide. Can't be worse than Bert calling him Ardleberto throughout his debut.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Ah, the old past-ball trick. Worked to perfection. BTW, when I was a kid, my brother was on a team that actually did the passed ball trick. Pitcher threw it purposely over the catcher's head. Runner on third would take off, but the backstop would return the ball just a few feet behind the catcher. I watched the trick work a couple times. Hilarious.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Just noticed that they misspelled Meíja's name in the media guide.I'm pretty sure it's Mejía. I'll have to wait till the next inning to check his jersey.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 I'll give Grossman props - he does seem to be getting better as a hitter. Is he finally maturing as a ballplayer?
