sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Rain out make up throwing a spanner in the spokes... Just getting something up before the game gets away from us... There is an ancient saying... Build a man a fire and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he's warm for the rest of his life. I am not sure, how it applies here. I just figured i'd try to get discussion going as we're already down 1-0 in the first and i figure, well, that should light a fire under us... or something. Rockies German Marquez (R )1. sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 18, 2017 Author Posted May 18, 2017 Research shows lone run in game due to an Arenado dinger. 2nd inning... my how time flies.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 18, 2017 Author Posted May 18, 2017 Mauer and Sano single in 1st. Polanco doubles to lead off 2nd. All for naught. Still 1-0 game. I must have mislaid the kindling or something. Or it got wet last night.
Twinsbar107 Verified Member Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 So far luck hasn't been on our side. Buxton hit that ball hard as well.
rghrbek Verified Member Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Colorado a sac bunt, with no out and guys on first and 2nd and up by 1. In the 2nd inning? Is Molly coaching both teams today?
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Well, Molly then IBB a guy in the 3rd, so we know he's still on the MN side for sure....
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 big ERV getting knocked around and the twins look like they're heading towards a 5-12 home record since their opening series sweep of KC. the team has looked very uninspired at home all year
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 18, 2017 Author Posted May 18, 2017 Outfield assist goes to Kepler. That is one way of stopping the bleeding. Last game we answered everything until they hung a 4 spot on us. Hope the take away lesson wasn't that those leads are insurmounable. I am going off to do stuff just to verify i ain't the albotross about their neck.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 man, the rockies are taking a big old poop on us today
FunnyPenguin Provisional Member Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Man...Santana needs to hit the restart button
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Good thing CO keeps giving free outs, or this could be bad...
FunnyPenguin Provisional Member Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 The exit speed on Amarista's double was 66 mph and Blackmon's single was 78 mph Then Kepler lines one off at 113 mph and it's an out

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 could be worse, we could have lost our best hitter and might need DanSan to replace him in part of the lineup by juggling positions! Poor Braves.
bighat Verified Member Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 These Twins have forgotten how to hit.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Given they are 4 down, Ruczinski (sp?) should come in next, since this is why he's here, to eat innings if needed.
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Lineout, walk, sharp single for Buxton today.
rghrbek Verified Member Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Now would be a nice time for BDoz to come through in the clutch...
rghrbek Verified Member Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Well that .130 RISP didn't get any better

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 I could be wrong, but i am under the impression the 26th man can only play in the 2nd game... did not know that! thank you. nm.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 18, 2017 Author Posted May 18, 2017 Well that .130 RISP didn't get any betterWhat is it now? .126?
gocgo Verified Member Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 OMG! Just realized that the 16 game HR streak is in jeopardy!
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Kepler will never get better against LHP if they don't let him hit. It also might be time to just realize Grossman is not all that good.... And no, Palka is not the answer.

He is way to young and talented to start platooning.
rghrbek Verified Member Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 Grossman cannot field, rarely hits, and has average speed at best. He walks a lot and strikes out looking a lot. Why is he our 4th OF and DH? I wouldn't mind seeing Britton up here soon, who is very good defensively and walks a lot. And could pinch run. Yes he does not have power, but RG doesn't either. Eventually I think Wade will get up here (hopefully by the end of year, as he is a college guy, but doubt that) and possibly be Rosario's replacement. Eddie's at his norms right? .275 ave, .295 ob%?
