I'd be fine with 3 pieces - DeLeon, Alverez and Lux, just drop the 4th piece

Exactly; this was absolutely unrealistic in my mind at any point before now. I don't want to get too excited for this, but it'll be fun to see when a trade occurs

I think the Twins would be to.
The Dodgers, not so much!

The Dodgers have a very good farm system. I can only really see the 3rd and 4th options being poor ideas to the Twins if the Dodgers are trying to send back contracts, like Puig or Ethier or one of their pitchers like Kazmir.

What I am asking is, are the Dodgers offering contracts/veterans along with De Leon and Alvarez, or moreso prospects that aren't as highly regarded as Lux?

Reading between the lines IMO I think the Twins know that the Dodgers absolutely need Dozier at this stage, the Dodgers have the best SP on the planet and a pretty sick top of the rotation as well with Urias stepping up, they are definitely in "win now" mode. So IMO the Twins can hold out a little longer for a better package, also this being the first trade in the new ear, I can see the new Twins brass wanting to show that they are not to be pushed around when it comes to trade talks.

That's all MY opinion though and just something I have come to think during this time.

and if it falls through cause they wait too long...

Why not just one of the "other" solid pitchers we've been hearing about and speculating on and just drop the 4th player? Quality over quantity and get it done before it spins out of control.

I'm with you on this one.  The Dodgers payroll is so high that I don't believe they'll be able to afford anyone in the Class of 2017 Free Agent class.  The Twins have the upper-hand.  Squeeze until they squeal !

I'd rather have Calhoun, Buehler or Stewart than Lux.

I don't know, finding a future SS is right up there for me. I know Calhoun is highly regarded, but I'd lean Lux over these 3. But really, the first two (De Leon and of course Alvarez) are the big gets for me.

Ethier will be off the books, A Gone, Kazmir will be off the books in two seasons .Crawford is either is off the books or will be next year.

Obviously I'd prefer Lux, but DeL+Alverez+Stewart is a steal for Dozier.

I think Lux ends up a utility player myself.  No interest at all.

Have we given up on Gordon already?

Twins have no desire in a guy like Puig.
And I haven't heard anything about any other veterans or contracts, I'm guessing they absolutely do NOT want to bring back a bad contract.

I'd go this order for favorite...

1) Lux

1a) Buehler

2) Calhoun

3) Stewart

And I would LOVE Stewart. Calhoun is a future dh, but a good one, apparentlyp

I think it depends on what level Dozier plays at moving forward, even if he takes a 15-20% step back from 2016, he is still a 5 WAR player or close to it.

If he continues to improve you are looking at 6.5-7.0 WAR player who is an MVP candidate, if that is the case I think Del+A+Stewart is actually a steal for the Dodgers.

IF he reverts to a 3.5 WAR-4.5 WAR player I think it's a pretty "Fair" deal.

Add something from Twins side and get Bellinger in there too...

and I am also not that interested in Lux.

Sadly the Twins IMO don't have a whole lot to add in:

Dodgers have no reason to go after Santana

Kintzler is good, but not enough. Plus I think the Twins should hold onto him anyways.
And every other worthwhile prospect is worth hanging onto IMO.

If I were running the team I would offer to include Rosario, and in return take back Lux+Puig.

Are you assuming the Dodgers extended him?  Cause it's only two years.

I can Dozier dropping down to a 3.5 WAR player.  He's projected lower, but I don't buy him going as low as some projections say.

We already have a better SS prospect, who is two years further along, than Lux.

I would add anybody not named Romero, Gonsalves, Gordon, Kirilloff, Jay from a prospect perspective to get Bellinger in this deal too.

If I'm throwing in Rosario, I still want Bellinger, as he is then your RF-er.

Well considering I already cleared the source with Brock and a mod that I won't name, I think that's enough of a "source"

It's pretty ****ty and disingenuous to infer that I "have no source" or am "making this up" I'm sure if a normal poster said something about a Mod or Owner sharing a scoop and called them a liar or inferred they didn't have a source that poster would be banned on the spot.

What? Too far?

I can understand you being tense but c'mon let's keep it light, I was joking.

I get the sense that the Dodgers would look to try to extend him another 2-3 years.

I know you were joking, but others weren't.

All good.

that shouldn't play into his trade value though, right?

Of course it does, just like it played into Johan's trade value.

I'd say the Dodgers extension is prob 50/50 though if they snag him, they would like to, just may not be the smartest time with him coming off a monster year. (A lot of this is just my opinion)

If the Twins could get Deleon and Stewart for Dozier they should jump at that deal.  The Dodgers aren't trading Bellinger in a deal for Dozier, Kinsler, or anyone else.  Stewart was their minor league pitcher of the year and getting him and DeLeon would be a great haul.  I have a hard time believing the Dodgers would deal Alvarez and Deleon for a career .246 hitter who plays avg. defense. 42 HR's arent happening in Dodger Stadiums  From a Dodgers perspective they have spent the last 5 years rebuilding their minors so they can be competitive for the long run.  Freidman and Co. aren't ever in the all-in mode.

Most boards, including the Dodgers board, overvalue their own players and undervalue others.  The Dodgers have a very deep pool of big league ready and near big league ready pitchers.  DeLeon, Stewart, Oaks, Sborz, De Jong. plus others that are more bullpen arms.  Verdugo and Calhoun are both top 100 prospects too.  I don't see the Dodgers dealing Bellinger, Alvarez, or Buehler.  Especially as a second piece for a nice player like Dozier.  I've been wrong before and who knows maybe Alvarez could be in a deal, but I would be shocked especially after the Dodgers just dealt Cotton, Montas, and Holmes for Hill and that turd Reddick.  I would bet just about anything that Bellinger is not included.

I don't see how it plays into value going back to the Twins.  Twins are only trading two years of control..  Whatever Dozier works out with the Dodgers for longer than 2 years is all about Dozier and the Dodgers.

Bellinger is indeed looking less and less likely. I personally think you are over valuing both Stewart and Alvarez though..no offense.

Dozier absolutely MASHED last year, and would have hit damn near 50 bombs in any park IMO.
I think his power is very sustainable as well.
