After a frustrating season, many of you want to vent...and I say vent away if that makes you feel better.  I feel your pain!

 

However, in times like these, I like to think of the coach who endured more than his fair share of putrid play on the field...no, not Paul Molitor.  Rather, the oft forgotten, oft quoted John McKay.

 

John McKay was head coach of the putrid 1976 and 1977 Buccaneers teams. They combined for an atrocious 2-26 record including 26 straight losses. They were also shut out a combined 11 times in 28 games as their starting QBs combined to throw 12 TDs to 50 INTs during this 2 year run. Awful...just awful.

 

Luckily for the Bucs, their head coach had quite a sense of humor. Here are some of his better lines:

 

“We didn’t tackle well today, but we made up for it by not blocking”.

“Three or four plane crashes and we’re in the playoffs.”
