When we closed the Metrodome, didn't we reenact Hrbek lifting Ron Gant's foot off the bag at first?...maybe I just made that up.

Nah, the Metrodome got the death it deserved... Total demolition by a wrecking ball.

I thought I clicked on another non-game thread and while reading the new posts was thinking - wow - this thread really went off the tracks - what are these people on etc.  

 

Once I realized it was a game thread, I thought this is actually pretty linear and coherent by game thread standards.

Once I realized it was a game thread, I thought this is actually pretty linear and coherent by game thread standards.

I never tried golf until I was 27.  A friend of mine took me out one day and I found out I could drive the heck out of the ball off the tee, but it would slice like crazy most of the time.  Once I figured out how far to stand, I had driving the ball down.  Then came progress in the irons.  My putting always seems to be good.

 

My last round that year I shot a 90 on a par 72.  I've played sparingly ever since.  In fact, I haven't played since I retired from the Air Force.

The term coherent and GT should never be sued in the same post.

Well, if we are going for an outfielder with lousy luck that isn't too busy, look no further than Mallex Smith.

 

The Braves promoted Smith to the major leagues on April 11, 2016. He debuted that night against the Washington Nationals, starting in center field. Smith went 1-for-3 in his first game, with a strikeout and a single against Max Scherzer. Smith's helmet lacerated his forehead on a stolen base attempt in the fourth inning, and he left the game. On June 20, Smith fractured his thumb after Mets pitcher Antonio Bastardo hit him with a fastball. The next day, Smith was placed on the disabled list and expected to miss eight to ten weeks of the season. After a July reevaluation, his return date was moved to September. Braves interim manager Brian Snitker later stated that Smith would likely miss the remainder of the season.

Don't listen to her. It's a good bit of fun. It also works if you need a nice quiet corner of the internet to talk to yourself. You can post on and on without reply. 

 

There's only one rule in the Olympic Volleyball thread. And that is that you may only refer to me by my new volleyball name: Killdigger.

 

So, who's in?

I'm guessing the 6 posters involved in the Volleyball thread is going to be a high water mark.

 

Although if Canada gets to the semi's, it could reach 7.

That could apply to some on here also. Mom peaks down her basement steps every once in awhile. I hate when she does that, I am in my mid 40's and easily able to care for myself in her basement! :)
