Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 According to multiple reports from Target Field today, Miguel Sano will have an MRI on his elbow on Monday. He says it has been sore for a week, so they are checking it out, though he doesn't think it's serious. He has played 3B just twice since the beginning of August.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Weird. I'd always heard the TJ surgery actually makes it stronger. Curious, but will never know, how/when this happened...
mikelink45 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 OF experiment - fail and DL3B with no practice in Spring Training - fail and elbow injuryWhat works for Sano? DH. His bat is his tool - his fielding is not going to make him a star.Plouffe and Polanco at 3B, Vargas and Mauer alternate at first and Sano at DH - that makes sense.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Yikes.Everybody said it was nothing serious at first last time too, so those comments do nothing to calm my fears.
Rosterman Verified Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Look at all the throwing he has been doing, probably on fast track, compared to the failed outfield experiment. We suddenly need Trevor Plouffe!
Kwak Verified Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Just in time! This will reduce the log jam in the infield.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Weird. I'd always heard the TJ surgery actually makes it stronger. Curious, but will never know, how/when this happened... that's a myth. What happens is that pitchers are hurt before they realize it, so they are losing velocity before they get the surgery. Then, when they return, they regain some of the lost velocity. If it actually made you stronger/better, then more guys would have it to increase their ability.

Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Per Phil Miller: Sano's MRI shows no structural damage in his sore elbow. You can breathe now.
