Both guys threw out the runner by about six inches. That is NOT ironic, but it's a cool coincidence. What's ironic is when everybody on one team wears the same color shirt. What are the chances??

Actually, Eaton's form on his throw was terrible.  He caught that ball flat footed, and took two crow hops before throwing.  He got the out because it was way too short of a fly ball to advance on, and because Grossman isn't all that fast.

That's too complicated for me. I've reduced it all down to the ball getting to the bag before he did.

Have none of these guys heard of a 'sweep tag'?

Yup, but they decided when you tag someone best to keep the glove very near or on the runner in case he comes off the bag. Less flashy, more effective. :-)

What a great Game Thread!  It almost feels like its May and there's hope.  Is everyone drinking tonight?

It should be coated with dog poop!

You know who else was a crappy third baseman at the beginning of his career? Greg Nettles. Kid couldn't keep from blowing grounders, so the Twins traded him to the Yankees.

A source of one of my childhood nightmares.  For years I slept trying to make sure my neck was covered by my sheet  (which in retrospect - probably would not have fully protected me).

Now my nightmares involve things like bunting and base running.

If you quit eating that stuff you are likely to have fewer nightmares.

Market Pantry Raspberry Blackberry Sparkling Water for me.

It doesn't taste bad but it also tastes like neither.

Speaking of drinking, Dick just called a player "a miniature Miguel Cabrera without power"

That's like calling an actor "a thin, unfunny Louis Anderson"
