Dick, trying to provide a context for the historical greatness of the 2016 Yankees bullpen:

'...much like the 2002 Twins bullpen, which featured Mike Jackson, Tony Fiore, LaTroy Hawkins, JC Romero, and top closer Eddie Guardado'.

Roy, off mic between innings: 'I'm not sure if the fans can tell if you're serious about that stuff or you're just making s#!^ up'.

Dick:  'It isn't important for them to know the differene. It's only important for me to know'

[Edit:  Dick actually said that first thing. Not sure about the others.]

That error will have cost the Twins the game! What's going on with Escobar??? Maybe the thoughts that he should be benched when Sano returns from the DL with Nuñez allowed to start at SS are better than keeping him in at SS...

Unbelievable!

Yet totally predictable. I believe that's called a "paradox".

What's wrong with Escobar????!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!???

I came up with a theory in the spring - that he's the new Nick Punto.

Not that he's as terrible as Punto was or that he makes as many boneheaded plays as Punto did or that he feels he's aerodynamic enough to defy the laws of physics when diving into first base. Similar in a different way.

Punto was at his "best" when he had to earn his way on to the field. When he felt he was being disrespected by not having a starting position handed to him, he played with a chip on his shoulder and earned his way back in. When he was named the starter and handed playing time, he struggled and he struggled mightily.

My theory is that Escobar is made from that same mold. Now he's played his way back into the lineup - along with some help from Plouffe's balky lower body - and he's struggling. Not as bad as at the beginning of the year, but still struggling.

He's not anywhere near as good defensively as Punto was either.

Sure would've been nice if we had got Gregorius a few years ago.

Gregarious? Hell, I'd settle for getting Mildly Pleased with the Twins at this point.

Wow, terrible call. He was definitely safe.

You know it's a bad call when you think the other team got hosed.

You know it's a terrible call when that other team is the Yankees.

My theory on Escobar is that he isn't an MLB caliber player. Unfortunately, I have that same theory with most of our 40man roster.

Did Mauer just get a hit vs. Chapman, or do I need to see if Walgreens messed up my prescription again?
