ANND Welcome! To Minnesota Twins Whine Line – Game Thread Edition! I am your host for the next 2 days, Vanimal. I wish I knew what kind of spell the Yankees have on our favorite ball club over the last 13-14 years, but it’s continuing this season. Well guess what? The spell is ending TODAY! Let’s get some things out of the way like weather and lineups before the fun begins....

It's a beautiful day for a baseball game. Sunny skies and 85 degrees for the first pitch. Getting hotter as we go along. Winds coming from the East at 7 MPH.

Minnesota Twins (23-50):

Molly's still thinking things through.

P - Ervin Santana ® - Redemption Game!

New York Yankees (36-36):

You think Girardi's revealing his cards this early? HA!

P- Michael Pineda ® - Last start against the Twins: 5.1 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 9 K....

We’ve got a new sponsor for this next segment… It’s called Kibbles N’ BITS! I want you all to think about this for the next 24 hours, or until we come up with new material for tomorrow.

I escaped a Panic Room yesterday! Could you?? – Yes, there is a thing called the Austin Panic Room, where I attended yesterday for a company building event. This place had 3 different themed rooms to escape; Abandoned School, Museum Heist, and Cabin Fever. My team was in Cabin Fever, with this scenario. You find your way inside an unknown person’s cabin to escape blizzard conditions. Because the weather is getting worse, you have 1 hour to find a tractor key, discover 6 hidden pieces of map of the resort, and escape the cabin safely. It took deciphering numeric and alphabetic codes to unlock your clues to find materials you need… A pretty fun way to spend a Friday afternoon!

New food items at Target Field: Denny Hocking asked a question on the Whine Line thread whether there will be new food items available for the playoffs this year. Little did he know we’ve been submitting ideas to Dave St. Peter all season long! Unfortunately we have not heard back about the Ervin Santana Meatball, Eduardo Nunez Bundtcake, or Miguel Sano replacement shake yet… We do have more ideas!

Tommy Milone “Short Start” Ribs:

If you’re looking for a quick snack at the beginning of a ball game, look no further than these delicious short ribs! 2 bone-in ribs are simply seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic and baked until the meat falls right off the bone. You better make sure to order early! Lately they’ve been sold out by the top of the 4th inning!

Brian Dozier Pulled Pork Sliders:

Our chef is stubborn with his approach in making these delectable sliders. But hey, when his recipe is working, it’s one of the best items in the ballpark! Applewood marinated pulled pork is generously spread on a Ciabatta bun, topped with honey BBQ sauce, coleslaw, and pickle.

Please share your own food item ideas to submit for approval!

Summer Time PSA: It’s officially summer, you guys! I think we can all agree that it’s in the top 4 seasons for the year. Temperatures are on the rise all over the country. Some places like southern California, Arizona, and Texas are seeing record setting temperatures already! We humans try to cool off by jumping into swimming pools, lakes, and oceans. But what about the animals?? They like to cool off too; take this bear for example:

She loves to belly flop into a pool just like us! So in closing, if you see a bear or any other animal jumping into a pool, let them be this summer. We’re all in this together to stay cool….

Enough shenanigans, LET'S GET A WIN TWINS!!

Wait, was that a grizzly bear, or German Shepherd?

When I picture a large hairy animal it makes me think of Sasquatch, which reminds me that I'm at the point where I can't bleeping stand the messing with Sasquatch commercials. I just want to close my eyes, stick my fingers in my ears and yell la-la-la for 30 seconds.

Since the Twins DFA'd Arcia, Grossman is batting .200/.286/.240

. He will make a decent 4th outfielder when Rosario comes back.

So it's possible he's really NOT a 1.000 OPS hitter after all??

Huh.

Two jumper cables walk into a bar.

The barkeep tell them, "You can stay, but don't start anything."

I really got a charge out of that one.

Ha, PIX broadcast goes from "lot of people think Dozier messed up his swing trying to hit 30 home runs" to "he has one of the best speed/power combos of any 2nd baseman."

I have so many old watches I never wear.  I thought I'd try using them to make a unique belt.  It was a waist of time.

I really liked how Dick and Smalley spent half an inning discussing how we need to allow 1000 AB for guys like Buxton, Kepler, even Grossman before deciding their worth.

I wonder if maybe they should change their cutoff number to 884.
