sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 Pretty sure I just heard Dick say this about the 7th place AL catcher by WAR (>150 AB's): "With his recent hot streak, we have to talk about All Star consideration for Kurt Suzuki". My fist and face just can't harm each other enough to get that sentence out of my head... http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cphs-0zKWAM/UF2VXSRRqdI/AAAAAAAADH4/qyzt_eldC8o/s320/ed-nortan-punching.gifCan never go wrong with a fight club ref. Well hardly ever. "You choose your own level of involvement."
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Does anyone else have the vague suspicion that we'll never hear another freakin' word about the #$@^ axe handle bat the minute Suzuki goes into a 3 for 31 slide?
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Buxton getting on base an awful lot lately
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 Suzuki mashing with his ax handled batI never read the hype about this. Is there more to it than paying attention to the wood grain?
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I never read the hype about this. Is there more to it than paying attention to the wood grain? The Phillies color commentator is befuddled by the amount of bats players can use today. Something about former ball players that must make them hate any new trend or fad
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 CBU. regarding yesterday big picture... 7? Today, tied 10-10 after 100 innings.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Watching the offense struggle to give and re-give GIbson the lead is like watching Steve Carrell strain against the mass of the plus sized lady while dancing in Get Smart
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Oh boy did Gibson get away with one there
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Stop being a defensive liability please, max.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Ah, cripe--- Cue the Corgis, Bombo.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Gibson continuing to fall behind batters
David HK Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Holy Moley, that pitch to Howard could not have been more down the pipe. Gibby is awfully lucky that sucker didn't take his head clean off.
Blake Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Does anyone else have the vague suspicion that we'll never hear another freakin' word about the #$@^ axe handle bat the minute Suzuki goes into a 3 for 31 slide? Well, in a season of misery wrapped in dismal and surrounded by incompetence, you gotta find a bright spot somewhere. And if the bright spots are few and far between then they're going to get repeated.

Gibby is awfully lucky that sucker didn't take his head clean off. He's gotten away with several of those mistakes tonight. Twins pitchers never met a corner of the plate that they liked

LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Well, in a season of misery wrapped in dismal and surrounded by incompetence, you gotta find a bright spot somewhere. And if the bright spots are few and far between then they're going to get repeated.I completely agree but somehow still have the utterly unsupportable yet completely unshakable belief that the more Dick talks about it the sooner the Suzuki magic will end.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Phillies may have caught a break there
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Escobar simply raking. And the defense this series continues to unimpress

glunn Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Kepler owes us a good at bat here.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Tied up! What a bizarre, pitching absent series
David HK Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I do NOT want to see Gibby back out there after this. You hear me, Molly?!?
Blake Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I never read the hype about this. Is there more to it than paying attention to the wood grain?Supposedly, ergonomics have invaded baseball bat manufacturing. http://axebat.com
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 The Phillies pitching coach looks like carter pewterschmidt from family guy
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Wow. A team made up of the best Twins and Phillies could STILL lose a hundred games. http://i1.wp.com/dealsamongus.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Clown-Selfie.gif.jpg
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I do NOT want to see Gibby back out there after this. You hear me, Molly?!?At this point, our bullpen is probably worse
S. Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I do NOT want to see Gibby back out there after this. You hear me, Molly?!?Unfortunately, I doubt you want to see any of our relievers out there either. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
