Happy Valentine's Day! The pressure is on to make your SO happy on this particular day... If you're single, it's the best night of the year to go to the grocery store. 

 

On this day in 2005, YouTube officially launched their website! Happy 12th birthday, YouTube. It definitely feels like I've wasted 12 years of my life watching countless videos. What's your all-time favorite video to watch?

Also, on this day in 1929, the St. Valentine's Day Massacre happened in the streets of North side Chicago. Al Capone wanted to take control of the bootlegging business, and rise to power in the mob scene. 7 gangsters were gunned down on this particular day.

They tried lighting all of the candles on Chief's cake, but it combust into a single flame....

I don't drink much wine, even when out to dinner. Maybe maybe something sparkling. And hardly ever at home do I open a bottle ... only when I have guests. Yet, it seems to be many people's 'go to' gift. So right now I think I have about a dozen bottles of wine sitting around.

Me, too. Mead (not really a wine, but often shelved there), sake, and champagne are acceptable.

 

My Dad did make a mean dandelion wine at home, though. 'Twas good.

Happy President's Day! Half of my office is gone today because kids have the day off from school... Are you lucky enough to also get the day off? 

Today is also National Love Your Pet Day! So let's get some updates on how your pet is doing on this particular day! And also, feed them something special. They deserve it. 

 

Today is also National Cherry Pie Day! That ranks right up on my list of favorite pie flavors... 

 

On this day in 1962, Major John Glenn became the first American to successfully orbit the Earth! The mission was called Mercury-Atlas 6, and Glenn orbited the Earth 3 times. 

 

Finally, on this day in 1872, the Metropolitan Museum of Art opened it's doors for the first time in NYC! Our family toured the museum while on vacation, but I was too young at the time to really appreciate it. Next time I go to NYC I'll have to check it out again!

Actually taking a sick day; the humidity from the melt is messing up sinuses. Hot cherry pie does sound really good.

 

Marley and Cody are both curled up on the furniture a few feet away.

 

Glenn's spacecraft was Friendship 7, and it's an exhibit at the Smithsonian now. Need to make it to D.C. sometime.

Today is National Sticky Buns Day you guys..... I keep looking at pictures of sticky buns and now my stomach is growling. Save me from myself!

 

Okay, that made me want to get up out of bed, shower, dress and go out and get some sticky buns on my way to work.

I've never heard of these.

 

We always called them caramel rolls, or sweet rolls, or pecan rolls, or ... mmmmmmmmm.
