Dude you really hate Duensing don't you?  It's the first runners he has allowed to score in almost 6 weeks.

The 2015 bullpen is Terry Ryan's worst mismanagement in his career, hopefully tonight helps push him towards actually fixing it.

Fryer was catching Perkins.

Duensing hit a guy. Then walked a guy. Was playing bouncey ball with Suzuki.

The Twins Bullpen is FIEN! That's what Ithought you were saying.

Again, if you bring up the young guys, they are hungry, this is their chance, they will give it their all if they want to stay in the majors (unlike Meyer, who is a prospect, and still can play bouncey ball between the majors and the minors). O'Rourke? May not be the best ever, but he knows he has to produce to stay in the majors. this is his one and only chance. If he falters, he may never get anotehr chance.

So howmuch lease do we give guys who have lsot it. Casey Burton? Knew he was too good to be true. Boyer pitched his heart out, like Thompson did, but the league caught up to him. Duensing...you need to get that guy out. We needed a strikeout pitcher. Do we have one> Maybe May...who came in a few batters too late.

Duensing actually struck out a guy then walked a guy, he didn't hit anyone. A walk to the 9th hitter is inexcusable though, especially since he was up 1-2 on the guy.

And it's Jared Burton and Casey Fien.

I will say, in response to a point made above, that the thought crossed my mind more than once that Perkins may have developed something that is tipping pitches. Or fallen into a pattern of pitch selection.

Too many really good swings recently, to blindly chalk it up to coincidence. Even swings and misses, and foul balls are well timed, and don't appear to be the result of a fooled hitter. Few if any swings at balls out of the zone. Virtually every slider seems to be waited for.

It could be random. But it seems almost too much to think so.

That pitch to Kang was hung.  That slider should be no where near the zone on a 1-2 count like that.

Just imagine in a hypothetical situation... what if Perkins gets hurt? For happens if Perkins is out for the season? Who closes? Who takes on the 8th inning?

I must sound like a broken tape by this point, but the Twins have to do something.

Also, I'm a bit concerned about Perk. No, I don't think he's hurt. But he's not getting enough swings and misses lately.

Yeah, bad location. But the swings earlier in the AB were also good, aggressive, well timed swings. The pitch in question often doesn't get hit 450 feet if the hitter isn't looking slider. The rest of the inning was more of the same. The previous few outings...more of the same. Even the successful outing in Cali looked more lucky than god to me.

Who knows...I might be seeing things. But it wouldn't be the first time a pitcher fell into recognizable patterns.

I didn't see the whole AB, so you certainly could be right.

It's possible Mr FattCrapps was being sarcastic.

Nonsense. I've always been a huge fan of Mr.Crapps serious, well thought out analysis.
