I was talking to a Tiger Fan today. He said he didn't like the Twins. And I said... How can you not like the Twins... We are that cute cuddly team that doesn't hurt anyone.

He said they (Tigers Fans) don't think of the Twins as a cute and cuddly team.

They don't like us much.

Another bit of ignorance on my part.

Any rhyme or reason as to whether or not the names are on the uniforms?

In 1975 Andy Messersmith was the first free agent in baseball history. He signed a contract with the Braves, who were owned at the time by Ted Turner, who also owned WTBS TV, which was one of the first TV stations to be widely carried on cable. So at the beginning of the 1976 season Messersmith was issued uniform number 17, which was further adorned by his new nickname "Channel". An interesting coincidence is that WTBS happened to be channel 17. (Imagine that!) Well, that only lasted a very short time because MLB reminded Mr. Turner that advertising on MLB uniforms was prohibited.

Too bad so sad.

I blame the outdated superstitious dogma perpetuated by the average fan.

It's fun to play the blame game...

Ok, but if he gives up another one, I'm blaming you for doubting the power of the baseball gods.

What if your last name is actually "Channel" Like the guy who does the song "Hey Baby"

Guess it's OK then. BTW, the harmonica on that song was played by Delbert McClinton.

I knew that and everyone knows that I know that.

Delbert has such a great voice... BTW... Best Delbert Tune in my opinion. B Movie Boxcar Blues.

As in circus routine? That could have the calliope music, and i wouldn't tire of it.

The calliope crashed to the ground.

You are such a font of trivia ... you should be on a quiz show! I'd bet you could win!
