HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I was a little surprised to see this article by Howard Sinker. I haven't seen anything from him in a long time. Turns out he's a blogger now. I REALLY like his positive, honest assessment of the Twins. Well worth the read. http://www.startribune.com/minnesota-twins-at-midseason-so-many-reasons-to-feel-good/314921831/

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Sinker is great. He was a fantastic beat writer.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I like Howard because he is a fan -- not a beat writer. So he can burn bridges when he wants and then rebuild them. He was pretty honest early on in the year -- reflecting the disappointment of many in April. But he has also been willing to acknowledge the turnaround. I think he reflects a lot of how the fanbase is feeling right now.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 To clarify, Sinker was a great beat writer but he isn't one anymore. I think he even shares group season tickets (that he pays for). He blogs, he manages something about the Strib's web presence, he teaches a journalism course at Macalester (I think), he appears on radio with Cathy Wurzer. But when he blogs, he does it from a FAN's perspective.

He and his wife were the first ever to have their wedding ceremonies conducted at Target Field
BK432 Verified Member Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Hard to disagree with anything he writes. OF defense in my mind continues to be the biggest difference. Get Buxton back and it's hard to sit Hicks. OF defense becomes even better.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Really missed his work. Didn't realize he wasn't posting on the Trib any longer as I got frustrated in their site for more than one reason. I will have to look for his blog. Have to say this was a really great read. Feel he's pretty much dead on with all points. Guy is a genius and reminds me of someone. Hmmm......oh yeah.....me! LOL JK of course. (Sorta)
