Alex Meyer will never be a successful major league pitcher

I prefer the "Stick a fork in him" format.

We'll see how this pans out.

I don't want to speak for Dave, but speaking for Dave, it appears Dave is saying its too late to stick a fork in Meyer, Dave thinks Meyer came to the bigs with a fork already firmly implanted.

According to Dave.

It's high time something original was done in fork design. Ever since the spork came out it's been simply wallowing in stagnant goop.

I think the board has been showing remarkable constraint. After all, Buxton struck out in his first PA and no one berated the FO for not selling high.

...and now he's using the knife.

Why then, the solution is quite simple.

Alex Meyer is not done yet: pull the fork back out

Hopefully this procedure doesn't result in him joining Buxton on the DL.

I was surprised how physically awkward Alex Meyer looked on the mound. I realize he's 6'9" tall, but that's actually pretty short for a basketball player, and those guys are incredibly smooth and coordinated. Maybe he needs a physical trainer that focuses on agility and coordination drills, so this very tall young man can look more under control out there.

Clearly he is gifted with some nasty stuff as a pitcher, but I'm waiting to see the control and command he supposedly gained by becoming a reliever. Maybe we'll see a significant improvement in his next outing.
