On the other hand, assembling a roster where Shane Robinson is batting second is either bad managing, or bad GM'ing.  Or both.

Like I said, I wouldn't have pitched to Gomez, but there was no good option there.  Thompson just simply can't walk that guy.

On the other hand, having Robinson sacrifice after a Dozier leadoff double...to me, that's bad managing.

Thompson hasn't been that great, but Duensing has played much worse. He's not injured anymore and he's still bad. Give Thompson a little more time, I think he'll rebound.

I have my doubts.  I hope you're right.  I'm not sure how you can use either in a winnable game at this point...

Sometimes I sense that when playing a NL team, we manage like we are in the NL.  I hate anecdotes though.

It's one thing to have Santana at the bottom of the lineup, stuggling badly.

It's another thing to have a lineup that contains Robinson, Hicks, Santana, Herrmann, and Rosario.

Tough to put together innings.

You make a good point, but Rosario is hitting pretty well right now.

Rosario came into today with a sub .700 OPS, and a sub .300 OBP.

He might someday be one, but he is not currently a good MLB hitter.

And can we please work the roster to a point where Shane Robinson, if he must be in the lineup, at least gets pinch hit for down 1 with no outs in the 8th?

last 11 games for rosario: one game with zero hits, six games with one hit, four games with two hits.

Great, Stauffer.  Not really good for much except lasagna...

Not really good for that either.

I can pick endpoints too:  Last 5 games coming into today:  .211/.211/.211

Like I said, Eddie is not currently a good MLB hitter, as evidenced by his overall line, and by watching him swing at too many pitches out of the strike zone.  That catches up to you.

I would be fine with Rosario as the nine hitter...if there weren't already 5 other candidates.
