Now, this lineup should produce runs and is easily their best lineup against a RHP. Watch, we'll struggle to score 2 runs tonight thought -- just been that sort of season. Of course, I hope not.

Doumit playing DH and Parmelee not playing? WOW!

Parmelee is on this team? Really? 4 at bats in nearly 2 weeks.

If the Twins want to win this series, they had better win tonight. The Sale-Blackburn matchup isn't very appealing for the Twins tomorrow afternoon. The Twins have owned Floyd for awhile now, so I hope that continues. Hendriks needs to start producing and getting his first victory might take some pressure off.

I've been thinking that Doumit batting 7th is the best spot for him. The last 'slugger' before our two light hitting middle IF guys -- and he clogs up the base paths. Gives him 'permission' to swing away, hard.

Agree. Tomorrow is much more ominous. A Hendricks win begins with 1st pitch strikes at better than 50%. This is the key stat to victory I'll be watching for tonight.

Against a pitcher like Sale would be the perfect time to yank Morneausie in favor of any right-handed hitting warm body.

*cough* Valenshia *cough*

That cough is contagious, spreading thread to thread quickly.

Like most of the Twins rotation, Hendriks can't miss bats... And if guys who can't miss bats aren't throwing first-pitch strikes, it's pretty much a guaranteed loss.

I was thinking more like 4 intentional walks... With the last 15 AB's looking like that why even let Floyd pitch to baby Jesus?!

floyd will be lucky to make the 4th inning

if the wind is blowing out at all he'll give up 4 homers

Thats kind of my logic when looking at tomorrows matchup with Sale. Everyone needs to implode from time to time. Dickeys last start. I think we will get to Sale but will Blackburn do enough to hold of the Soxs?

Going out on a limb here, but I'm thinking your glass is always half-full, sorry but this one is a No-Sale, unless there's no Sale pitching. Blackie's luck is due to run out sooner than Sale's is.

There should be a roster move today sending down mastroanni or parmelee and calling up ramirez or Valencia..... Or both! Mastro is useless right now and parmelee needs the regular at bats. This way our lineup could be...

Span-CF

Carroll-2B

Mauer-1B

Willingham-LF

plouffe-3B

doumit-C

Valencia-DH

ramirez-RF

dozier-SS

Crazy I know but that would help a little bit against a top lefty...

You're going to take Revere out of the lineup with the way he's been playing? No no no....

Only 4 of those previous 15 AB resulted in more than one base, so why would they IBB Mauer? Most likely only gets a single.

I don't know, you should ask Ozzie. I'll take a stab at it, because a single w/ RISP results in one or two runs scored?

I almost included that thinking that someone wouldn't see that I was speaking strictly of ABs as such, without the variables of runners on and outs. Sure, runner on second and 2 outs, pitch around Mauer and walk him if you must. Duh.

Ramirez is stinking up the place at AAA in the pace of .245/.265/.388 Danny V has been better recently but still his totals are .241/.281/.389. If they need a RH bat, Matt Carson should probably be it, leading AAA with .278/.355/.427 Still not sure whether that is an improvement over Mastroianni, esp. defensively and on the bases. I would like to see Danny V up with the team. I suspect that there will be personnel changes within the next month or so and lots of people would get their opportunities. Sorry for the appearances of snark, but I somehow think today the snark level at TD is rising faster than the Mississippi.

I heartily endorse this idea. Mostly because I already name-dropped Carson earlier. He's swinging a good bat in AAA, is right-handed, and can't possibly be more irritating than Danny V. Send Parms down and call the kid up.

Also, are we sure Carson is an actual person and not just an attempt by Rene Tosoni to repackage himself?

He is an actual person but not a "kid" (well, he is a "kid" compared to some of us, but at least not) in baseball terms. He will be 31 soon. And no. He is not Tosoni. He has hair
