Oh brother, enough with the pretentious elitism fellas. General public, good lord.

yeah not sure how I get labeled as acting elitist. People posting on message board during game = not general baseball public. Your average retired couple watching the twins on a Tuesday night in rural Minnesota = general baseball public. Idk, I just stating I don't see QS and WHIP as overly sabrmetric stats. I'm not being smug about it.

This forum isn't the general public though, so....

pfffffffffffffffffft.

I'd like to take this moment to point out that the Twins are completely wasting a "quality start" from Liam Hendriks.

Well played.

Many of us just came from a Twins message board where we referred to ourselves as elitists, so get used to it. Moreover, there's nothing wrong with trying to uplift the discourse.

How, it's not like anyone hasn't heard any of this a thousand times before, it's nothing new.

Well, I'm glad we could all have this talk because this game is boooooooring.

I'm actually kind of enjoying watching Hendriks work tonight. Probably his best start of the season. Now if only we could get him some support.

Yes, there's lots that haven't, and they're what is referred to as "the general public".

To recap: 1) it's good to educate the public about stats, even if mislabeled sabr 2) it's elistist to suggest the general public doesn't know about these stats 3) it's nothing new so it's hardly uplifiting the discourse and not really elitist at all.

You're going to be fun to post with in game threads.

Oh, that part is great. The offense is what's letting the team down tonight, without a doubt. It'd be a shame for Hendriks to finally sort it out and pitch a good game but still get the loss.

What I would give to see Bert's meltdown after letting up two ITP HR in one game. I mean, he had to have come unravelled a bit right?

---Hey how did my quote get pulled into this discussion?!?

FWIW, I have no argument with anything said here and would not label anyone elitist based on it.

Another called strikeout. Sigh.

That last pitch looked a bit low to me.

Justin still not looking comfortable at the plate. I am fearing a double play here.

Do you really want it? I can change it if you like.

Why not? New board, new identity. I'm been running with this handle for 10 years...time for a change?
