TWINS SCORE A RUN IN 2015!

Did the run get changed to an earned run? Surely that was a single and an error to allow the run. I see the box now says double and earned run. Such charity if that is the case. Either way, that is 24.1 innings without a run to open the season. Without that error, we could have broken the MLB record of 26 innings and be at 27 innings and counting.

It was like 2 or 3 innings away from an all time record. Which would have been absolutely hilarious.

'The Tigers set a modern-day American League record Thursday by extending their season-starting shutout streak to 24 innings before Minnesota scored in a 7-1 win for Detroit.

After blanking new Twins manager Paul Molitor's team in the first two games of the season -- started by David Price and Anibal Sanchez -- Shane Greene shut out Minnesota for the first six innings to break the record held by the 1947 Chicago White Sox.

According to STATS, the longest such streak in the majors since 1912 is 32 innings by the 1963 St. Louis Cardinals.'

And every box score I've looked at this morning still says our only run scored this season was unearned.

To be fair Suzuki was robbed of a homer and Escobar of a runs scoring triple but this start doesn't shock me.   Price and Sanchez are capable of throwing shutouts at any time.     Its why I would have liked to see a rotation of Nnolasco, Milone, Pelfrey, Gibson and Hughes to maximize our chances of winning 3 of our first 5 games.   Why put our best chances of a well pitched game against Price and then Sale.   Plus, I really don't like Milone pitching in Chicago's hitter friendly confines.    Cmon Twins.  Win at least two in Chicago and all is forgiven and forgotten.

Just saw an article on mlb.com that yesterday during the game some of the Twins were joking about not scoring any runs and that Molitor didn't have a problem with it.

Really?

Molitor has said he wants the players to "have fun." There were certainly a lot of joking smiles in the dugout when Mauer scored yesterday.

They need to have fun and keep it light, otherwise they're going to get frustrated and... well, not get worse, because that's not really possible... but not get better?

Well, now that they have taken care of that first run, hopefully they won't have any trouble scoring more.  Hopefully starting today again the White Sox.

it's a job, they need to have fun at the job. I have no issue with this. None.

They realize that except for the few with guaranteed contracts they will lose their jobs if this keeps up. I'd have to hear the specific jokes, but gallows humor would be completely appropriate and probably helpful.
