At what point are you guys actually going to get rid of auto sound/play banner ads?

I have a thing that happens a lot. Scrolling down to read comments and then I involuntarily spring back to the top. Seems like it happens when a video ad is around and that invariably ends up at the upper right corner of the screen after the spring back. Happens every 10-20 seconds.

It is a pain in the neck but I can deal with it - if you can fix something great, just please don't tell me to change browsers - I hate that answer

The flash ads and autoplay ads have gotten out of control, I'd say that 20% of my visits in TD is either slowed up significantly due to them, or sometimes makes my whole browser crash. Interestingly enough Wild Extra runs much better on my machine. Thoughts?

This is happening to me a lot the past few days. Sometimes refreshing the page fixes the problem. But most of the time I can't scroll at all. It constantly brings me back up to the ad. Really annoying.

Just got hit by this one real hard. Latest Chrome/Windows 7 SP1. I didn't grab a screenshot because the page kept jumping to the top.

Yeah the mobile ads are now a huge issue as well, a lot are auto expand and they literally block 2 or 3 posts in a thread.

These bloody ads that keep auto-scrolling the page have got to be the worst.

Tell us what you need from us to troubleshoot this, Brock. Otherwise the usage of that special kind of software that hurts your revenue may see a spike.

The current offender seems to be the Flash ads running under the 'Subscribe to Twins Daily Email' entry box.

I can send you the Fiddler capture I made of the session if that will help.

Not sure, but it has happened 10+ times the past couple days, usually isn't the "first" ad, happens after a couple minutes

If you see it again, let me know if it's the first, second, or third ad slot. They're all running different networks.

You guys think you have it bad? My autoplay ads start shouting Chinese at me because I live in Taiwan. But that is probably the reason that I didn't get assaulted by this nonsense until a week or two ago - nobody wanted to pay for audio/video ads in the Taiwan market.

I believe it is the first ad slot above the right sidebar.

This has been happening on many sites recently but it is driving me crazy.

Which slot? We run different networks in each slot so I can't complain to the network unless I know which slot is making noise.

I had to switch from Internet Explorer to Foxfire. IE would crash about 15 seconds into a forum. So far, foxfire has been great.

Just had one ... not sure what it was for ... dogs running in a field ... was in the top spot on the right. But it quit part way through.
