Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 He almost recorded his first MLB win on Monday night, but following the game, Kris Johnson was optioned to AAA Rochester. As expected, Yohan Pino was called up and will start on Tuesday. The interesting thing about this is that Johnson can not be called back up to the Twins for 10 days (unless there is an injury). So who will get the ball in five days? Logan Darnell? Trevor May?
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Seems unlikely it would be May right? Not if he's on a pitch count as strict as he appears to be on.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Interesting development.... surprised they aren't giving him another start. Seth in addition to a "injury" could he be called up earlier due to a trade? (Correia) I'd have to say since they are sending him down (and keeping him down for 10 days) that it would have to be May or Meyer. Though Meyer I still maintain will be up July 31st.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Per LEN3, the Twins won't need a fifth starter until August 2. It could be Johnson again by then, probably not May. "Pinto will start Tuesday, then Sunday against the White Sox. The Twins have an off day on Monday, July 28, so everyone can be pushed back a day in the rotation. Pinto could start again on Aug. 1. Aug. 2 should be the next day the Twins need a fifth starter."

I'm going to the game on Saturday. I would be nice if it were May or Meyer. Then again, that TBD fellow always kills the Twins.

It was indeed reported that Nolasco is eligible to return Wednesday July 23rd (although he last pitched on July 6th, so July 21st was his 15th day of inactivity...).
