sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Morales really got a hold of that one. And it was fielded like it was hit. So he's on. In the short term, that's good enough for me. (If only we coulda done something with it...)
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Morales really got a hold of that one. In fairness, with wheels like those bearing down on him, the first baseman had only a split-minute to make the play.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Has there been news on Nolasco? This just in: he's having a bad season. / OK, recapping from earlier posts, he's going for an MRI on his elbow, word is he's been trying to play through a problem with it
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 You know, we could have had this Zunino kid, if the Twins had had the courage to draft him. He was right there for the taking.
snepp Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 If the bases were loaded, and Iwakuma hit a batter, would the Twins still score a run?
Dr. Evil Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Wonder who will replace Nolasco in the rotation.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 If the bases were loaded, and Iwakuma hit a batter, would the Twins still score a run? Trick question, obviously. If the bases are loaded, Iwakuma is facing some different team.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Wonder who will replace Nolasco in the rotation. Who is the oldest pitcher on the 40-man not on the 25-man? <checking....> Kris Johnson.
Tibs Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Lol, Escobar making sure he wasn't on the wrong end of Hammer Time there.
howeda7 Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Just go ahead and walk Cano here, KC.
curt1965 Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Wonder who will replace Nolasco in the rotation.I'm guessing the Twins will do some thinking "out of the box" and select Deduno
Dr. Evil Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Wtf is arcia doing a dance fielding that ball?
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Who is the oldest pitcher on the 40-man not on the 25-man? <checking....> Kris Johnson. LaVelle E. Neal III @LaVelleNeal 55m My guess is that Kris Johnson will be called up Friday to start in place of Nolasco
curt1965 Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 ....passing my time by seeing how many times I can punch in Morneau on MLB.....
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I am occasionally checking in on the game, have the Twins even come close to scoring?
howeda7 Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I am occasionally checking in on the game, have the Twins even come close to scoring? No Dozier led off with a single. Inexplicably they didn't bunt him into scoring position. Not that it would have mattered.
Tibs Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 No Dozier led off with a single. Inexplicably they didn't bunt him into scoring position. Not that it would have mattered.Inexplicably? I'm not sure why we would be playing for one run in the 1st inning.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I am occasionally checking in on the game, have the Twins even come close to scoring? They've gotten somewhat under 270 feet from scoring, but had to retreat due to the subsequent situation.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 The players in today's lineup since June 1 by OPS, (not in order). Anyone wanna guess who is who? .353.6532.056.657.759.794.636.537.556 Whichever is which, with the exception of Arcia they are all lower now.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 LaVelle E. Neal III @LaVelleNeal 55m My guess is that Kris Johnson will be called up Friday to start in place of Nolasco So, anybody except Johnson it seems.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Correia's trade value inches higher.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Inexplicably? I'm not sure why we would be playing for one run in the 1st inning. With Correia on the mound for us? That's just Managing 101.
howeda7 Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Bunt. I know it's Willingham, but PH if you have to.
Tibs Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 With Correia on the mound for us? That's just Managing 101. Sounds like another reason to be playing for a multiple run inning to me
howeda7 Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 With Correia on the mound for us? That's just Managing 101. It is when Escobar's up and you haven't scored a run off this pitcher in 3456 innings.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 ~270 feet from scoring as i type! And 3 outs to get there too...
Hawkeye12 Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 So barring a disaster the rest of the way, KC will have as many quality starts on the season as Phil Hughes, and one ahead of Gibson (who both do have one less start at this point). Funny what a little patience will do if you let things play out instead of overreacting. Wish we'd score him a couple runs here though.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 So barring a disaster the rest of the way Yes, what could go wrong?
