This is a game thread, Tibs. The Aaron Hicks thread is that way :)

Which way? I'm bad with directions.

I'm sure there is a Choo joke somewhere in there, but I those have been done.

IN THIS GAME, Hicks didn't look too good waving at that outside slider for strike 3. He hasn't seen a ball moving away from him before, so there may be an adjustment period. I hope he can do it, but I'm not optimistic.

Yes. Experienced veterans with successful careers sometimes have trouble with those pitches. Hicksie will require a lot of batting practice..

Don't worry about it. Very little is off topic in a game thread and you get credit for posting from Target Field.

Just about to say that KC was having a pretty good outing.

I bet you're glad you held off on that statement.

Yeah, me too (thinking Correia was having a good outing). I'm not a big Correia fan, but that was a hard luck inning. He makes a nice pitch to Odor that should have resulted in the third out, and he pokes it into the outfield. 5 minutes later two runs are in.

Hicksie! That was a solid hit. Keep those coming... Maybe add some homers as well.

One step at a time... Let's advance him to a double next... He can skip the triple and go straight to the homer after that... Just like the Triple is Triple A.

Actually... I'm optimistic now about Hicks... Something as simple as stop swinging from his crappy side could do wonders.

Now if we can just work on his watching the pitchers back foot when taking a lead at first.

Hicks has great tools. If this works, he could have a high ceiling.

I would just be happy with lots of singles to go with his eye at the plate. If he could consistently make solid contact and find the gaps with regularity, to combine with his walk skills, he would be an on-base machine.

Escobar still hitting

Escobar at the plate is getting kinda weird. He's just keeps stroking it.

Kinda like a car that you drive for 100,000 miles without changing the oil. You'd think it would eventually cause you problems but it still gets you to work and back.
