Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Game-time forecast: Partly cloudy. Winds blowing in from left field at 5-10 m.p.h. Temperature around 60. Check back if you dare. Scary stuff! ------------------------------------------ Dang Right I'm scared... I gotta get to the baseball diamond and coach some Babe Ruther's in a half hour and I still gotta grab some food before I go and I've wasted all my time for game thread thoughts in another thread defending the virtue of Ben Revere. My fault... Poor Planning... So Quickly... Things to think about: 1. Phil Hughes -- He's good... And Now he only has to face 8 legitimate batters as opposed to the 9 he faces most nights in the American League. The way Phil is throwing and in consideration of this being a national league game. Phil might allow -2 Runs today. I hope we don't lose -2 to -3. 2. Pinto-- Where is he? It's not a knock on Suzuki... How can I knock Suzuki... He's playing very studly at the moment but it's Pinto's turn. Suzuki can play tomorrow. 3. Kubel -- I see where he is... I personally wonder why? A little Nunez in LF would be alright with me tonight. 4. Santana -- Great guitar player... Great Pitcher... Over Rated Catcher/3B and a Fast SS who is fun to watch. 5. Time -- Ummm... Time sure keeps ticking... I gotta run... I'll game thread with you all when I get home from the game.
Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 They're not going to let this TBA guy bat more than once. That's baseball 101.
Hawkeye12 Verified Member Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 They're not going to let this TBA guy bat more than once. That's baseball 101. If TBA is shorthand for Pedro Florimon, I bet they let him bat as often as he wants.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 heh ... I didn't have the Twins lineup yet when I posted that, but I was betting that Hughes would be 9th. And I was right! (yeah, big stretch)

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 21, 2014 Author Posted May 21, 2014 Is that a double-dog dare? Or just an ordinary one? Depends ... how scary is it for you on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most?
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 I predict multiple hit games for Hicks and Parmelee today.
MNGap Verified Member Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Awesome a 9:10 pm EST start time maybe I'll make it to the 4th inning tonight.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Depends ... how scary is it for you on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most? I did in fact check back, so no need to even dare the likes o' me. Thus it would be a waste of a double dog dare... Hope the Babe Ruthers have a good game! I'm bad at all the satisfaction survey scales... I'll try my hand at google image search, and see if i can find something appropriately scary. Um... Best i can do, i think:

Gibby Provisional Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Hughs just looks like a pro out there, but then he did do the barbershop quartet commercial.
big dog Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Another sparse crowd at Petco Park, where fly balls go to die.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 22, 2014 Author Posted May 22, 2014 Sparse crowd here tonight too
big dog Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 sure, mlb.com falls apart and I miss a Kubel stolen base??? What???
Gibby Provisional Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Can you pound hard cider? I cant drink this stuff without chugging it.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 sure, mlb.com falls apart and I miss a Kubel stolen base??? What???Not the back end of a double steal or a two out full count! Bonus was that Bremer said how unlikely it was they'd send Kubel a pitch or two before the steal.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Phil Hughes and Glen Perkins are starting to resemble each other.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 22, 2014 Author Posted May 22, 2014 Okay, they are gonna break it open this next inning
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Can you pound hard cider? Home Depot help line person says no. Still on hold with Menards'. They're probably still high-fiving and laughing about Kubel's shocking act of larceny.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Phil Hughes and Glen Perkins are starting to resemble each other.Their pitching, or like how some people resemble their pets?http://cdn2-b.examiner.com/sites/default/files/styles/image_content_width/hash/13/08/1308654cf67fe54a59829fb43e3e9697.jpeg?itok=0na6k8g0

Or like how some husbands and wives start to resemble each other over the years -- which is even weirder if you think about it.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Dick with an incredibly subtle shout-out to his boothmate. He pronounced Cabrera's first name "Ev-er-eth", three distinct syllables. It's spelled Everth, and everyone else probably mispronounces it too. Still, it was like a little tip o' the cap. To me and zero others.
