Jeremy Nygaard Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Gardy said that his "phone is on fire" and encouraged the media to hurry up to his post-game presser. Sounds like a couple moves are going to be made... I guess now would be the time to fire away. I'd assume Nunez is definitely coming up, Santana and Darnell are going down... which means another position player. Arcia?
blairpaul715 Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Oh you know the Twins.......If Bartlett not on team, they have to have Guerrier on the team. lol But I agree Nunez and maybe Parmelee for Herrman
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Why would Darnell go down? Don't they need a long man?
Hawkeye12 Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 They need to make a decision on Guerrier today, so that's probably Darnell being sent down. Hicks should be back in a couple days too from the concussion list.
blairpaul715 Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Forgot about Hicks, so Guerrier, Hicks, Arcia, Nunez......for Darnell, Herrmann, Santana, Floriman.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Gruyere comes up, because a rebuilding team whose philosophy it is to promote young guys from the minors can never have too many 35 year old RP. Nunez comes up, Santana down. Mauer to the DL (shockingly fast for this club), Parms up.
Jeremy Nygaard Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 Why would Darnell go down? Don't they need a long man? Seth and I discussed last night; we think Swarzak would go back to that role.
Jeremy Nygaard Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 Both Guerrier and Parmelee would require making room on the 40-man roster. Hicks could be sent to Rochester for rehab.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Yup, but this is the deadline, and they can't risk losing him, so someone will be culled from the 40 man (probably an OF, /snark), and he'll be up.

I'm sure this is sarcasm on your part. How is losing Guerrier a risk? They have nothing to lose by having him opt out.
twinsin17 Provisional Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Guerrier's only value to us is sentimental. The Twins should cut him lose, maybe Detroit would be interested in his services considering their awful pen.
pierre75275 Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I think hermann and floriman go down and nunez and arcia come up and guerrier comes up and logan goes down
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I think that losing Guerrier would hurt the Twins about as much as Bartlett's retirement... At this point I'd like to see them have Darnell in the rotation in Deduno's spot and call it a day.
SydneyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Arcia not in the Rochester line up tonight
Paul Pleiss Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 When the Twins call up Guerrier I'm going to pour out three beers and weep. I can't understand that move, no way, no how. Jason Bartlett was a hard enough pill to swallow for this ball club.
Jeremy Nygaard Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 Get those beers out Paul. Guerrier is coming up. Please post the video on Facebook. And here.
Paul Pleiss Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 When I get home you should see a video posted late tonight, or sometime tomorrow morning. So long tasty beers. I hardly knew you.

Guest Guests Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Get those beers out Paul. Guerrier is coming up. Please post the video on Facebook. And here.Guerrier? You mean the guy who's given up two HR's and 4 BB's in 9 AA and AAA innings? Who had a 2 ERA for the last time in 2009? Must be coming up to do something other than pitch. Has he been taking flies in CF during BP and been a good guy in the clubhouse?
Jeremy Nygaard Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 Yes, that Guerrier. LEN3 tweeted it during the game.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I want to know if Guerrier can catch. And possibly coach a little third base when needed.
Guest Guests Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 One other thing: we've all known companies that aren't doing well, but kept promoting friends of the boss, even though just about everyone at the company thought there were dozens of more capable people. It's really demotivating, particularly to younger, talented performers. Of course, professional baseball is different from most businesses, and the incentives for young, talented performers are much greater than in nearly every other industry, but talented young minor leaguers are still young people, subject to the same range of emotions as any other young person.
Jeremy Nygaard Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 Guerrier up. Darnell down. Assuming corresponding 40-man move comes tomorrow pre-game.
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Guerrier has been taking flies in the outfield, 4th outfielder.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Guerrier up. Darnell down. Assuming corresponding 40-man move comes tomorrow pre-game. That's it? If so, good god. They're not even trying.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Embarrassing. And yet, we keep buying tickets, why not do this?
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 If there is one thing you can never have enough of when you have a 2 man bench it is 35 year old washed up relief pitchers.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Maybe they are trying to be the oldest rebuilding club ever.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Still no outfielder, bwahahahahaha. Just atrocious.
