Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Game-time forecast: Mostly cloudy; 4% PoP; winds from the NNW at 16mph; temperature around 23 degrees F. (Okay, yes, there really is no forecast for a domed game, but since my posting a forecast yesterday went over so well, here's another one ... from somewhere in the world at game time.) Twins:SP, Pelfrey Dozier 2BMauer 1BPlouffe 3BColabello DHKubel LFPinto CHerrmann RFEscobar SSFuld CF Rays:SP, Odorizzi Zobrist LFJennings CFJoyce DHLongoria 3BLoney 1BMeyers RFForsythe 2BEscobar SSHanigan C ----------------------------- Okay, now, heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's Brian! (in due time)------------------------------------------------------------------ OK... It's 5:47 and I have 13 minutes... Things to think about: 1. Sam Fuld -- He makes his Twin debut tonight... He's a face full of dirt guy and I appreciate his style of play and am happy he's one of us now. I don't know if he's gonna satisfy us but he's here and we need him. 2. Aaron Hicks -- Aaron gets a night off... It's actually possible and just a few days ago... I'm not sure that it was. Aaron hasn't hit the ground running in the majors... I believe that he will be running at some point but having Hicks as the only sensible CF option was a little scary while he is struggling. 3. Mike Pelfrey -- He needs a good start tonight... The Season is young but he needs a good start regardless. If he doesn't... You gotta consider Deduno and Pelfrey switching roles. 4. Brian Dozier -- He's Chris Davis with the power. He's among the HR leaders in the American League. Just let that roll around your brain awhile. 5. Car Washes -- A guy from Mandan tripping on Meth recently lit himself on fire at a gas station in Dickinson North Dakota. He thought the police had sprayed chemicals on him... they didn't... and so he sprayed himself with gasoline. Then without putting two and two together... he decided to have a cigarette and poof. He actually put himself out by running through the car wash. My question is this... How much should that cost to run yourself through a car wash. It certainly would have to be a lesser rate than an actual car.
Kirby_waved_at_me Verified Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I like the lineup - first chance to see Fuld in the field, nice to have not Colabello in Right. (He's been great at the plate, don't get me wrong)
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Really 23 degrees in Tampa? Wind chill must be close to 0.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 23, 2014 Author Posted April 23, 2014 Really 23 degrees in Tampa? Wind chill must be close to 0. I did say 'somewhere in the world' at game time ... but I also said yesterday that I'd make something up. Real? Not real?

Joe A. Preusser Verified Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 No Hicks or Floriman. Why does it feel like we were just spotted 6-8 ABs?
Jerr Verified Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 No Hicks or Floriman. Why does it feel like we were just spotted 6-8 ABs? Funny;)!!!
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I like the lineup, too. I don't think Herrmann will get many more chances so he had better hit now or he's going to end up in Rochester, NY.

Willingham, Arcia and Nunez should soon be supplanting Hermann, RP/SP (Tonkin? Pelfrey?) and Florimon.

Winston Smith Verified Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Can someone give this to Bert?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Jeez... We could have gotten Jennings out twice with two good throws.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Dirt comments that there is "more speed" in the Kubel/Fuld/Herrmann outfield tonight. Laugh/cry decision mechanism confused.

drock2190 Verified Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Does that count as a good inning from Pelfrey?
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Does that count as a good inning from Pelfrey? I give it an 8 on the Pelfrey meter.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Maybe that was 23 C, not F...? I didn't go to Winnipeg once because the Temp looked to cold. It was 54 in Grand Forks and 12 in Winnipeg. I told everyone that we are not going.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Does that count as a good inning from Pelfrey? This didn't happen, so.... yes?http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_uFYtT3I_QHY/TLbkz7SCTPI/AAAAAAAAA0c/1tT1-GxWUzI/s1600/Charlie+Brown+Pitching.jpg
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Are there Trees out in CF? We can't seem to locate the ball in Tampa Bay.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Rays' epic failure to have their pitchers hit opposing bats on display again.
BigTrane Provisional Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I give it an 8 on the Pelfrey meter.Good for an ERA of 9.00... what's not to like?
big dog Verified Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Good for an ERA of 9.00... what's not to like? Wasn't that an unearned run? Hicks would have made that throw...
