Nice that Gardy got 1K vs. Indians after the er, indescribable end of the season last year.

Listening to the radio feed, and the 1-club, 1K achievement is special... don't think we'll see much more of that in the future. A moment to savor.

Also nice to see my man Dozier set the tone with that pop. Great game for him, and Collobello is on fire. Pinto does good, Kube does good, and Mauer seems to be finding his stroke. Too early to say, of course, but- there is some offense in this team. Liking that big time.

Florimon now batting .082, implying that at some point this past week, at least one pitched ball somehow struck his bat and ended up in play. Didn't see it, can't picture it.

He and Kelly are two of only ten managers who have a thousand wins with the same team.

 

They are also not coincidentally two of only four non-expansion managers since WWII to have three consecutive ninety loss seasons and retain their jobs.

 

At any rate, congratulations to Gardenhire, and to the players for discarding what earlier in the week appeared to be a plan to save the thousandth win until the home opener.
