I saw a clip of him playing Winterball & he really looked good. I'm rooting for Wash & Sano. Hoping Wash can undo what MN did to Sano. Sano bought into MN's hitting philosophy hook, line & sinker.

I hope that he can finally make it full time and remain healthy to make the most of this chance to finally have a full career. I think Wash is a great manager that will be able to get the most out of him & hold him accountable.

Sano when he was going good was an absolute force to watch.  He had a couple stretches where he lived up to his prospect hype as an absolute masher with discipline and a cannon arm.  Sadly those stretches were fleeting and the lows were Gallo without the defense or walks.  Eventually he just out conditioned himself from the league.

It is great to see him come in way lighter, I hope he can find success in the MLB again.  It sucks he never realized his potential with the Twins because he had the tools to be a an awesome bat.

He crushed homers when he barreled it like Stanton or Thome in their primes.

Not to mention that his manager, Ron Washington, is known to be a great infield defense instructor, even though he knows playing first base is incredibly hard.

I can see him washing out with a sub .700 OPS fairly quickly.  I can also see him finishing the year with an OPS north of .900.

I have absolutely no idea which is more likely.

Best of luck Miguel.

Sano was finally hitting to all fields, hitting for average and power, then James Rowson left for Miami.  Sano started to try and hit 600 foot homeruns on every pitch and his career went kaput.

His weight is s not the issue. He just can't hit breaking balls!! And his refusal to hit to all fields like Miggy did in Detroit is one of the most bull headed mistakes of all time.

I wish him the best. If I were the Angels I would hire a recently retired hitter to keep him focused. A man by the name of Cruz comes to mind.  As good as the trade (Ryan for Cruz) was, I feel it impacted Sano.

Sano looked like a young Miguel Cabrera when he first came up. He hit to all fields and with power. For whatever reason, likely a change in team hitting philosophy, he tried to pull everything, resulting in high strikeout rates. And he did look out of shape despite his large frame. I wish him well in his comeback.

I wonder if Sano bought into the Minnesota out of shape philosophy at the same time.  Sano is responsible for what happened in Minnesota and no one else.  He was tremendously overweight and ignored the Twins on getting in shape.  Sent him down to the minors to get in shape and still didn't figure it out.  He wasted his talent.

To bad he couldn't mature earlier and take the steps that would have kept him as a valuable Twin.
