Why Gabriel Gonzalez is the Hitting Prospect the Twins Have Been Waiting For
-
Lee is definitely an unknown at this point, Will he ever really hit is a huge question & his fielding , throwing etc seem to need some serious work so the last 2 months of the season is where he needs tp perform now or he will end up being a utility player as several other people have already mentioned. I hope that he can become a good major league SS. However, I have my doubts based on the parts of the last 2 seasons.

With arms that they received I think that Abel, Rojas & Bradley all have a good chance of being part of the Twins staff. Granted they each have areas to improve, but the Twins seem to have really improved helping pitchers reach their potential. Whether it is adding a pitch, tweaking their delivery, etc. We will see how good they are since they are rebuilding the relief corp & some of they starters. In addition, there are changes going to the field staff, but it will be interesting to see if they can make this a winning team.

Lets just hope the next ownership is not another Pohlad type owner & definitely does not hire a clown like Joe Pohlad to actually run the franchise......

Minnesota Twins Minor League Relievers Of The Month - July 2025

A good honest question that needs to be asked. Just like we need to wonder what the new owners of the Timberwolves are going to be like ? I have my concerns that they would move the team out of town ASAP if the could just from watching how they have acted over the last few years.

Comparing AL Central Rosters: Part 4 (Bullpens)

I think as stated that there is still a chance to make Prielipp a starter down the road because he is only 24 years old, But Canterino is 4 years older and he was overused in college by Rice and that is why he has had continual are issues. Rice University baseball has a history of doing this to young developing arms.

Comparing AL Central Rosters: Part 4 (Bullpens)

I wonder if our new Rule 5 draft acquisition could fit into that if they can do a couple of tweaks or if that might be where Louie fits on the Twins pitching staff.- 17 replies

Comparing AL Central Rosters: Part 4 (Bullpens)

I think you wrote some really good material in doing the comparisons. I thought you came up with a nice clean simple scoring system. It will be interesting to see what the Twins can do to make the team better with all restrictions the team has. It will take some good creativity on the FO to really make this team have a chance to win the Central, I think the Guardians , Royals & Twins will make it competitive. The Tigers are also going to be in the mix based on how they finished the second half of last season. Thanks again creating some good off season reading material.- 17 replies

The Pohlad Empire (Part Three): Modern Airfare

Quite the dark side Mr. Pohlad had being involved with scum like Lorenzo, Definitely not the" Savior of Twins " image that has been portrayed over the years. Ruthless and very unsavory business practices gives him a well earned reputation as the "EVIL BANKER". -
The Pohlad Empire (Part One): Banking On The Future
Twinsgypsy replied to Peter Labuza's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
As has been stated he & many other bankers were involved in price fixing & other illegal dealings with no real accountability for their actions. As a result , there a finite number of people who benefitted greatly at the cost a lot people. So IMO he earned the reputation "Evil Banker" reputation. While I am glad he saved the Twins from being moved he also was willing have the Twins go away when they were looking at contracting teams. So in many ways his actions were not necessarily altruistic much of the time. I will be glad to see the Twins hopefully go to better owners than they have now. -
They do not have to worry anymore with him deciding to retire because of all the injuries. I feel sad that a person with so much natural potential has had to retire because of all the injuries he has had to deal with in such a short period career. I wish the best for you Alex. I totally understand your decision to retire because of the back injury you have. 40 plus year ago I suffered a serious back injury where I broke my L2 -L4 vertebrae. I have had two surgical steel rods in my for 40 years and have been very lucky to have had no serious side ailments from it. I wish you luck with wherever life takes on your journey. Thank you for time being a Twin.

Varland is in need of a good change up or another pitch that he needs to develop as others have mentioned. However, at this point in the season the Twins are in need of an additional reliever that has good stuff. At this point If he wants to be on the major league roster he will have to be a reliever or he will be laboring away in the minors at St Paul. While it might not be what ideal for Louie because of his desire to be a starter it does not fit the needs of the team. I remember when Santana first came to the Twins he work in the bullpen for a couple of years before he was made a starter that turned into one of the best pitchers that has pitched in the major leagues. I think it would be beneficial to both sides for him to come out of the bullpen for the rest of the season. It will take a lot of the load off of others in the Bullpen so that they can remain fresh to the end. During the off season he can work with someone to pick up an additional secondary pitch that could turn him into a more effective starter, or a great reliever.
